Amazing place to relax and calm down direct at the beach. The villas are nice and comfortable and there is a beautiful yoga Shala that can be used privately if there is no classes. The personal is very friendly and helpful. The small breakfast includes croissants and fresh fruits. At the small private beach outside of the hotel you can find sun beds, but be careful to swim outside of the hotel, as there are a lot of coral and stones there. There is a better possibility to swim just couple meter away to the right side of the hotel.

Amazing house in Manzanillo!! Just steps to the beautiful beach. When you come back, there is an outdoor shower to rinse off with. The hosts were kind enough to set up a crib for our daughter. The covered deck was wonderful to relax on.

This was exactly what we needed. The location was amazing - right on the beach and the staff were fantastic. It wasn’t too busy with a relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious as was the food in general and the cocktails (including our welcome one!). The room had some frills - 2 fridges and very comfy new beds. We loved hanging out with the team and listening to the local Calypso band. I’d highly recommend this place for a laid-back low key beach stay.

Amazing little lodge basically directly in a private piece of jungle but with nice walkways. The hosts are super friendly and showed us all kinds of animals on their property. Every time we returned from a daytrip they showed us something new or took us on little night walks - just amazing. The room was clean and the breakfast was good, surrounded by beautiful plants with visitors such as Colibris or tiny lizards saying hello in the morning. Also, we just had to walk for about 10 minutes to a wonderful beach where we were alone most of the time (during low season). Beautiful Manzanillo is just around the corner - 20 minutes walk on the beach. Puerto viejo and Cahuita National park are close as well, we took a local bus which stopped 3 minutes from the lodge entrance. If you love nature and a peaceful and quiet place to stay with amazing and friendly hosts who enthusiastically show you the beauty of Flora and Fauna of Costa Rica - this is the place for you, away from crowded and touristy hotels.

Our hotel, Arrecife Punta Uva, was right on the beach and very conveniently close to a restaurant. There were plenty of seating areas and hammocks provided, which made it easy to relax. One of the highlights was a beautiful viewpoint on a cliff about a 10-minute walk away—definitely worth the short hike. The food at the restaurant was also quite good.

We loved our beach cabin stay in Manzanillo!

We loved our beach cabin stay in Manzanillo! We ate meals on the front porch surrounded by the beautiful garden, listening to the rolling waves of the ocean. The beach is just across the street, and the nature reserve is a five minute walk away at the end of the street. There is also a good Caribbean restaurant at the other end of the street, also just a five minute walk from the cabin. Our host was very friendly and attentive. It’s a quiet, authentic beach town, and much less touristy than Puerto Viejo. We plan to stay there again.

Picture perfect beach with a restaurant that hosted live music in the evenings. It was beautiful with a nice atmosphere. However parking was very crowded with the only free parking be on a narrow and very busy road.

Manzanillo is lovely.

Manzanillo is lovely. The reef is regenerating so snorkelling good we did a boat trip to go snorkelling more and I saw a blue spotted eagle ray! Absolutely the best snorkelling in the area particularly near the entrance of the National Park. We had a kayak into the jungle which was lovely. We did a night hike which was quite an experience!. Manzanillo is quiet at night. The people are great! We rented bikes from Chile Verde where we stayed and cycled to the Ava project preserving Great Green Macaws. We also culex to Punt Uva. We also walked there on the beach. Manzanillo is great! We are at maxis and another cafe at the end of the road. We also had dinner at Colores with live music. Great food and service.

If you made it until the Caribbean part of Costa Rica don’t miss out on this place! So friendly people, such a stunning place to walk around, explore and maybe plan to visit again for prolonged periods or even to retire at? (That certainly is if you like small, really small places and don’t need the buzz and facilities of “real towns, which aren’t that far away anyway)
