We stayed at this hotel for the last part of our trip in Colombia and we are grateful for every minute of it. The island is paradise, with big palm trees and crystal clear water. The staff at the hotel was amazing with us, they took the time to greet us and they were very welcoming of our 3 years old who could freely discover all their kids games. We chose the bungalow deluxe and we woke up every morning with a breathtaking view, the room was also spacious and we loved the open air bathroom concept ! The food at the restaurant was nice and the breakfast buffet was full and varied ( be mindful that you are on an island so the menu is well thought to minimize any waste). We felt safe and very well taking cared of. We would come back anytime, one of the best memories of our trip.

Everything. The family who run the hotel are absolutely amazing, they were so attentive to our needs and really happy to help with anything we needed. Everything was kept really clean, and whilst the hotel is far away from the main action, it does mean you’re much further away from all the sellers who tend to harass you, as well as in a more quiet and peaceful area. The hotel was just perfect :) the breakfast was really tasty, as were all other meals (I would personally strongly recommend the chicken coconut curry) but you do have the option of other restaurants if you want to wander off. Having said that, the staff do try and accommodate your needs/ tastes if you want something off the menu, although they don’t serve beef or pork to minimise impact on the environment. You can also go paddle boarding for free for an hour and they also have snorkel equipment you can use for free - really couldn’t recommend this hotel any more highly, stay there and you will have the best time! Gracias a todos! <3

The best beach club I’ve ever visited / stayed at. Absolutely stunning. Unusually well designed pool & deck area. Also excellent value - we got a 2 bedroom villa for roughly the same price as standard rooms at our very average Santa Marta hotel.

It’s the perfect place if you like beautiful Caribean beaches! The hotel is right at the white beach, turquoise water, perfect for swimming and kanoeing. Hammocks and chairs on the beach. Huts/ little houses are very clean and comfy, ours had AC and fan. WiFi, electricity and water worked perfectly. I loved the nearly private beach, it’s a calm beach, ideal for relaxing, still you can walk along the beach. Food and drinks in the hotel are super delicious and prices are fair! It‘s easy to reach by boat! The place has a new owner, so you should check only newer reviews :) Canilo, Breiner, Neider, the cooking ladies are super friendly and helpful!

In the beginning I was thinking the price was too high for a shared dorm… when you get there you get what you are paying, the place looks like a resort! The staff is amazing, super kind people, as well as the atmosphere. Drinks also are great! I am a backpacker, so during my travel I don’t usually go to expensive places, but I was attracted mainly by the plancton tour. I am glad I’ve been there. It’s a unique experience, one of the best I’ve ever had. They will provide you snorkeling masks and take you to see the shiny jellyfish! Trust me it’s totally worth it, I also did another plancton tour in Cartagena but there is no competition. To see good plancton with proper masks and snorkel, go to el embrujo. Mosquitoes have not been a problem during my stay.

The location is the best of Barú, beautiful beach with white sand. We love our room with sea view and nice details. The personal was amazing, their arrange everything what you asked them. We went one evening to look at the high-lightning plankton and one day we went to Rosario Islands. Just ask the personal or Alessandro who send us a privat Taxi who picked up from our Hotel in Cartagena to Barú and the driver Fernando was very kind and helpful. The contact was easy and uncomplicated. We’re got the best cocktails from El Chaza with his mobile Bar on the beach. And more of sales are from my country Venezuela 🇻🇪 We recommended Calamari Barú and want to come again!

Everything about Blue Apple is amazing. We stayed for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon trip to Cartagena. The location, pool, rooms were so beautiful. The staff every single one of them was amazing so friendly and helpful and the service was excellent. In particular we would like to thank Jorge Luis luna, Samantha at reception and Yao for being so helpful and accommodating, and lovely people. The staff speak good English and mentioned they are all getting English lessons which is fantastic. The food is 10/10 we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here each day and the food was just so beautiful. It is a little more expensive but you do not mind spending this money when the food is of that quality. They organise some events on some evenings like cocktail making classes, wine tasting, pizza nights. You have the option to choose to avail of this..there is no pressure if you choose not to. At the weekend during the day it is a little more lively but it's fine and we'll managed. Then by 5pm it gets quieter and becomes really peaceful.. They went they extra mile and offered us complimentary glasses of champagne, cocktails as it was our honeymoon. The extra touches of welcome cocktail, turn down service with gifts for guests was also amazing. The communication about the transport from Cartagena and boats was excellent We could not find any fault in this hotel. We would 100% recommend. Thank you for everything.

Complete disconnect from the world. Little piece of Paradise in the middle of the ocean. Perfect for relaxing and procrastinating. The staff (especially Ingrid) and service are just great. The food is amazing with a lot of local options that we loved. The setting is beautiful, amazing views and very private. No music, very premium environment. Our room was right on the sea, we woke up with the sun every morning. There were several activities available and we chose the night snorkelling. We had a magical moment swimming in the mangroves at night with the fluorescent phytoplankton (organised by Mucura travel). An experience to remember.

The place is a luxury of calm and nature. Lucrecia and Sergio are a treasure and what makes the place so special. I have not found another place where they take care of you so good!!!. They feel like family. We had the place almost to ourselves and enjoyed the birds, swimming between mangroves and being spoiled big time between pina coladas, lulo juice and nice food!. I hope we will come back. We were all happy, happy!. My daughter enjoyed every single moment of it. They organize everything you need for you. My family will carry Lucrecia and Sergio and this nice little corner of the world in our heart.

Lewis and Jaime! all of the staff was amazing but in particular these two guys went above and beyond with every request and did it with a great attitude. they are all stars! the hotel is rated a 2 star i think but it feels way more high end. the ocean is spectactular, i could go snorkeling right from the hotel, the rooms were spacious and clean and comfortable with large fans. the loungers were comfy and didn't feel cheap. overall that island was a lot cheaper than the other ones too

We had a great stay on the island, everything was perfect. Our room was really nice and clean. When we were there, the beach and pools were not overcrowded at all. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. Two of us were vegetarians and the chef created us new delicious options everyday. The Spa services were high quality, good value for money, with a cute, tropical vibe. Overall we had an amazing experience.

Loved how you could walk one side of the island from our accommodation. Plenty of activities on option if you choose. We ate at the hotel as good menu and convenient. Lovely outdoor restaurant with food cooked as ordered. One warning about the boat trip back you get wet!! so does your luggage.

However I would bring mosquito spray & ear plugs bc if you get the room next to a generator it will drive you crazy. The best room is with the balcony so you could enjoy the sound of the waves & beautiful view, it’s definitely worth the extra money. Food & drinks were good. Take the taxi & boat suggested.

The staff, location and room were excellent. Staff went out of the way to help and guide. We booked a car through the hotel for pickup and drop off to Cartagena and the car service (Carlos the driver was awesome and very helpful and punctual). We had a medical emergency and the staff were super helpful to guide and help arrange transportation to the nearest city. Highly recommend. Water pressure at the hotel at times can be an issue (beyond the control of the property), which is to be expected. The staff informed us of low water pressure times and were very helpful in providing a bucket to store water for shower if needed during low pressure times.

Hotels are pretty isolated, so you may not go to another restaurant in case you don't like yours. The beach on the 'more popular' part are facing the industry harbour and the rafinery, which impede the experience.

Keep in mind that not all hotels have beaches, even though they do have access to the sea. Also remember that walking from one place of the island to another is not possible due to the mangrove, so most of the time you will need to take a boat, which usually is provided by the hotel at a cost. This is a place to relax under the sun, swim in the sea, eat delicious food, and do some low intensity activities like paddle board or snorkeling. It is not a place to explore the surroundings, have long hikes, or party

This place is paradise!!!

This place is paradise!!! The resort has been developed in a very natural way, we felt we had plenty of privacy and space around us. The food could be improved a little but overall the experience was great. The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable! Isla Mucura is the perfect place to relax! Get the elevated kiosk room if you want a bit of extra fun and uniqueness

Sunsets are amazing.

Sunsets are amazing. The sea is BLUE blue, and the reef is a swim away to explore. Very small island, to explore through day and night nature activities. Bring nug spray and bug bite gel. You will need it but you are on a tropical island so to be expected. Would have spent one less day there and one more in the Old Town area of Cartagena

Baru is not a lonely remote place where you will enjoy peace and quiet. Hotels and lodges are literally next to each other. There are many people. When swimming, be careful of boats and jet skis that drive here and there very close to the shore. But the sun and the sea make all that unimportant. There are also various excursion options.

great little hotels and restaurants in the area but too many hawkers selling you stuff. Be careful with your personal items. Bring your own towels. Sunset beach restaurant had nice cabana types to relax and consume.

Tierra Bomba was a short 10-minute boat ride from Cartegena. It was situated on a long private beach with plenty of daybeds to choose from. The rooms were spacious and close to the pool/beach/restaurant. The food and drinks were delicious. On our final night, we upgraded to the Private Villa with a Private pool and it was WELL WORTH IT! The private courtyard was beautiful and the pool was refreshing. The room was huge, comfortable and came with an outdoor bathroom.
