The concierge Mr. Stephen Poon was exceptionally professional and the best concierge we have ever experienced. Helped us a lot with calling the taxi, finding an address, picking up our luggage, and making our stay superb. He is literally running that hotel, helping with everything, there is no job beneath him, he takes pride in ensuring that every guest is taken care of and the hotel is immaculate, the men cleaned the floors at one point. He exemplifies what being of service used to be. He does a marvellous job also at training the young ones. Was amazing to watch him be that excellent of a service with everyone. The young James who checked us in was so gracious and helpful all the time and very professional. The staff there is just amazing. The hotel itself is superb, very clean and with quite big rooms, filled with everything you need for a comfortable stay. This is what hotels used to be, and Voco is still maintaining the standard of service by making one feel special. We even extended our stay twice. The neighbourhood is old China and quite an experience in itself. The cleaners are very friendly and do a great job. The menu for breakfast is extensive and caters to everyone. The price for the hotel was also reasonable in comparison to many so-called 5 stars hotels that promise a lot and fail to deliver. We will be visiting again, I am certain this is our new address away from home. We give it 10 stars.

Wonderful hotel, 10/10 for location, rooms and amenities (starting from light control to Dyson hairdryer available), 11/10 for staff. There even one person who spoke pretty decent Russian. I would definitely recommend this one over the hotels in close proximity.

I had a pleasant holiday in Guangzhou. The Baiyun Hotel is in a good location. What makes people linger is the buffet breakfast on the 30th floor and the thoughtful service of Mr. Clerk at the front desk. The room and floor services are also very good, and there is plenty of free mineral water on the floor.

Absolutely shocking, and that was just at the airport, we could not get anyone that spoke English, we had booked hotel at airport so we could get a sleep before our next flight, We were took from one end of the airport to the other, told to fill in forms that we did not need, told we needed visa that we didn’t need, told not to talk, Eventually got to hotel had 2 1/2 hrs sleep before next flight Couldn’t get out of the quick enough 👎👎👎

I like Gankeng old town and dafen painting village, dongmen pedestrian street. The malls are big and modern, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, bakeries and shops selling all kinds of stuff. The public transport, taxis or trains, is efficient. I learnt after returning home that commuters above 60 years old even foreigners can take the tube/underground train for free.

Great place for families, couples or singles.

Great place for families, couples or singles. Comfortable beds, clean bathroom - air con in the room makes a much enjoyable stay. If you are a coffee drinker go to 2 floor and ask for an Italian or Brazilian coffee. You will love it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoy the swimming pool on the 5th floor. A room with a view that you can see Macau and the bridge that links Hong Kong to Zhuhai. Great choices for a variety of restaurants including continental breakfast and dinner. Zhuhai offers a lot to everyone. If you have kids do not miss the opportunity to go to Ocean Park, the bus ride will take approximately an hour from the city centre and it will cost less than 15 pence. The weather is simply gorgeous - it can get very hot in the Summer but because it a semi tropical city the weather is great throughout the year. Great choices for massages, including foot massage, body massage, acupuncture, cupping, Traditional Chinese Medicine, costing a quarter of price anywhere in the world. Also, a hospital can provide with stem cells treatment and other alternative therapy for good value for money. The restaurants were clean and food was just simply delicious and not expensive at all. Public transport cost less than 15 pence and most if not all buses have air con, making a very enjoyable journey. Ocean Park was the highlight for our kids - we can really spend the entire day there and you feel like it is not enough. We have been there twice and we would visit it again on our next trip to Zhuhai. I strongly recommend a visit to Zhuhai and place that you will certainly want to return to.

Foshan is a busy town but feels more relaxed compared to Guangzhou. There are markets, local stalls, two malls, and plenty of places to grab bubble teas and fresh juices, including small family-run stands. Lots of local restaurants serve Chinese and Canton-style food. McDonald’s, KFC, Domino’s, Starbucks, supermarkets, and several 7-Elevens are all just a few minutes away on foot. The train station is about a solid 20-minute walk Go here for the BEST Peking duck I’ve ever tasted Hu Shuai's home · fruit wood charcoal roasted duck (Jinke Building Store) No.29, Qingfeng West Road, Nanhai District, Qiandeng Lake C+ (opposite to Poly Tian Yue)

Highly recommend only staying in this region especially if you are shopping for building materials and furniture. Many places will send Didi cars to pick you up. Canton Fair is only 1 hr away depending on traffic. Guangzhou is only 45 mins away depending on traffic and what time you leave.

Dongguan is not a destination city.

Dongguan is not a destination city. It does not have the things to do that Shenzhen and Guangzhou have. But if you are there on business or visiting friends, there are some things to do. The mall off of the Hongfu subway stop is nice. Qifeng park is huge and beautiful. Grateful Q is a great restaurant with amazing ribs. I lived here for 8 years, and I always come back to visit every other month.

I have really enjoyed my time in this mega city.

I have really enjoyed my time in this mega city. Much of my enjoyment was due to my walking extensively looking for traces of Old China. In my short time here I could only just scrape the surface.  Going behind the glitzy facades along the main roads,  I found a hidden urban landscape of labyrinthine lanes which could easily be passed by the casual visitor and those who use the metro or taxis.  The lovely parks and Six Bayan Tree Pagoda were the best. Canton Tower only for those who like concrete and glass

Shenzhen is a modern and welcoming city with incredibly friendly and helpful people. Despite the language barrier, many locals used their phones to translate and went out of their way to help us navigate and find our way. The city features large open spaces, impressive modern architecture, and enormous shopping malls—almost too big for my taste! The food was milder and more Western-style than expected, rather than traditional strong Chinese flavors. Transportation was excellent and very affordable, with most trips costing around 2 yuan and our longest ride only 6 yuan. The weather was perfect for the season, and we always felt safe and relaxed while walking around the city, unlike some other major cities around the world. Overall, Shenzhen is friendly, safe, efficient, and extremely modern.
