This hotel far exceeded my expectations. The decor, furniture and views are absolutely stunning. Personnel are very friendly and food is very good and fairly priced. Rooms were very spacious and bed super comfy. I should have stayed here more days than I did.

A very pleasant and peaceful atmosphere, very nice and welcoming staff, extremely helpful and friendly. The absolute highlight, however, was the location and the unforgettable view of the lake and the surrounding hills! Simply breathtaking, and I will definitely come back, whether alone or with friends. It was a fantastic stay with a wonderful feeling all around. The reception staff are simply outstanding! It has all the amenities you require, however if you have 2 suitcases, it difficult to open it :) 2. Bathroom - clean and spacious 3. Staff - very friendly. The staff invited us for free drinks at bar in the evening. 4. Location - excellent. It is central and right on the water. You can enjoy your meals at the balcony and enjoy the views. 5. After staying in Grindelwald which is full of “pictures hunting” loud tourist groups a stay in this hotel was like a paradise. No one with selfie sticks, no loud people taking a pictures everywhere including wellness area. The hotel is clean, quiet, close to the railway station. We had a sea view double room with a balcony and it was a perfect choice - the view was amazing and siting at a balcony and watching a lake was a perfect relax. Nice swimming pool with warm water, clean saunas and comfortable sunbeds by the lake, where is possible to swim. Nice breakfast with plenty of choice, especialy Swiss cheese were amazing. Hotel has a restaurant which isn’t the best restaurant we have ever visited but It´s normal good restaurant with prices similar to the other places in Switzerland, the Coop market is on the other site of the road, just cross the street, train station less than 10 minutes walk

Perfect place where to stay if you’re planning on doing the hikes around. The hotel has a large wellness space with all kind of saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs. Perfect to relax! The food is really good as well, very nice staff, with a special note for the restaurant-bar manager, that was just exceptional, looking into the little details to make sure everything is perfect and always having a nice word for everyone, I’ve rarely seen someone as dedicated and professional 👌. Rooms are large and confortable, the only thing I may say is that in my opinion they are a little too basic, missing some charme/character/decoration. But overall, great place to stay, the lobby lounge with fireplace is very cost to have a drink or read after a long day. I will definitely come back!

The staff were all extremely welcoming and quite simply, lovely. My daughter of 4, who doesn't speak a word of German, said one of the waitresses/hosts was now her 'best friend,' and she was sad to leave. Really absolute A+ service throughout, always a smile. The breakfast was terrific as well. Delicious cappuccino and a broad selection of everything. Bread, croissants (laugen, even!), yoghurt, pastries and cake. My daughter went to the buffet four times; we've never seen her enjoy breakfast as much as here. Oh, and the fresh orange juice was delicious, too.

Everything was perfect. The view was amazing. The breakfast was wonderful. Close to the city (18 min. by bus and they provided a guest card/ticket for our convenience when commuting) but actually you feel like you are in the suburbs.Very clean and spacious rooms. They also let us leave our suitcases there after check out so that we could explore the city. We really wanted to stay more but everything was already booked.We just wish we didn't have to leave.

Lucerne was absolutely beautiful.

Lucerne was absolutely beautiful. I am so glad we decided to visit Lucerne versus Zurich. It is a walk-able city, the food was delicious everywhere we went, it is kid-friendly, and the chocolate we purchased there was the best I have ever had. It was close to Mount Titlis, which is a must if visiting Lucerne. Well worth the trip!

This city is a short distance from Lucerne.

This city is a short distance from Lucerne. There are frequent trains that go to Lucerne and further into Unterwalden. The main attraction in Hergiswill is the glass works and its museum and restaurant. There is a boat that stops there. One of its benefits is hotels that cost less than Lucerne Hotels and offer great views of the Lake. Consider it a suburb of Lucerne.

Ok so, Weggis is a beautiful little village but that is also it's problem, it's a little village. Activities were limited and so were the restaurants. I would recommended staying there as a "base" but then exploring the surrounding attractions.

Stoos is a very charismatic small village in the Swiss alps.

Stoos is a very charismatic small village in the Swiss alps. You get their only with the steepest funicular of the world, no cars in the village. During the summer season this village only attracts people for the famous (and very overcrowded by Instagrammers and Tiktokkers) Stoos ridge hike. It is amazing and has great views but you walk in line the whole way unless you are willing to really take the 1st chairlift up there. I am sure there are as nice hikes but less crowded ridge hikes in Switzerland. It was a reminder for us to never take travel tips from social media.

there was a mountain top with gondola ride to get to top, but it was closed from march'25 to may'25 (I think due to refurbishment - all notices were in german). there is a nice grocery shop only a few mins walk away - with pretty generous timings

The lake view from the hotel window, with the surrounding mountains, is vey beautiful. The mountain behind is a very nice "fitness" route. The view from the top of the mountain is even better than from the hotel, amenities include boat trips through the lake, a golf course on top of the mountain and a sky station next to the town.

It's a nice village close to Luzern and Stans. You can easily get the train to Luzern or Engelberg and visit the Stanserhorn bahn or the Titlis bahn. Where you can ski, take in the beautiful views or do some walking. It is by the lake and there are some good restaurants close by and also by the lake with lovely views and good pizza! you can also take a nice walk around the lake too.

There are so many places we like: 1. Breakfast at Spices Kitchen & Terrace - breathtaking view of Lake Lucerne for breakfast. Go early to get a table near the window. 2. Restaurant Taverne - its rosti is the best I have eaten in Switzerland. Must try! 3. For tennis players, must visit Diamond Domes to play tennis. For golfers, must try the 9 hole golf course with stunning scenery. 4. Experience the Hammetschwand Lift and the Suspension Stairs. 5. Enjoy the funicular railway and catamaran to Lucerne and return. All complimentary for hotel guests. 6. Download the Burgenstock App and check out the daily activities. There are Core & Stretch, Aqua Fitness, History Tour and Burgenstock Resort Movie. 7. Must visit the Spa to enjoy the indoor and outdoor pool, infinity pool, steam room, sauna room, floating pool, foot spa and the relaxation area.

We stop off in Beckenreid for coffee, enroute to and from...

We stop off in Beckenreid for coffee, enroute to and from Italy. But recently a stop off to be close to the St Gotthard tunnel, as its busy especially in the summer. Beckenreid has multiple facilities, coffee shops, supermarkets, petrol station and ferry stops, going to Lucerne and directly across the lake. It is just off the motorway.

I received an upgrade from a mountain view room to a lake view room, which I appreciated very much. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Hotel Rigi Vitznau to anyone visiting Vitznau.
