What a lovely place, in a beautiful green, quiet location, just outside of Gudo, overlooking the vineyards and the mountains. Marco is a great host, kind to everyone, open for chats (which we love) and very attentive. We stayed 5 nights and the breakfast was perfect, every single day. He makes good coffee, there were different cheeses to choose from every day, and fresh fruit, among others. We were also very happy with the beds, after almost a week in Interlaken with super soft beds, we were happy with these nice, sturdy matrasses. Marco also organizes dinners. We were able to enjoy one of them and we were very satisfied. We will come again, when we're back in Ticino! With the Ticino ticket that you get upon arrival, you can use all means of public transport in Ticino free of charge. That's a huge bonus. Bellinzona is only 20 minutes by bus and from there you can take great walks, either high up in the mountains (using a cable car to get there), or lower, there's ample choice.

Fantastic location and view. It's very close to the main station and to the main castle. You can see the main castle from your window. There is also some castle walls behind the hotel. It's very beautiful. The morning coffee is great. The wifi is good. It has a small refrigerator in the room and a towel dryer, very good. The employees are very kind.

A great town with 3 castles to explore a great old town railway station walkable to old town. A town you can walk mostly but there are also buses. A number of restaurants and on a Saturday morning there is the market in the piazza

Aiolo is probably beautiful in the snow and it has superb trails up behind in the countryside with Swiss cows wearing bells and mountain goats. Lovely old houses and probably once a delightful place. Sadly now dominated by a huge concrete factory and all the noise and dust that entails. Better to stay at the San Gottardo hotel probably, which is actually ON the pass itself, or above the pass.

It’s a great place for a-stopover for us traveling from the uk to the ferry port in Ancona, Italy, en-route to Turkey by car. Our dogs stay at the hotel with us. Foods good, service great! Would, and have, recommend this hotel to fellow travelers.

It is very convenient to go to all areas of Ticino, as there are buses every 15-30 minutes to Bellinzona, Giubiasco and Locarno. For example, it takes only 12 minutes by train from Giubiasco to Lugano.

I grew up near Giubiasco, but left so many years ago, coming back was a real treat and I'm hoping to do it again. We spent most of the time with long standing friends. Public transport was amazing, eating out was always a treat but also the meals at San Giobbe were very good.

Great view, very nice reception, great for everybody who...

Great view, very nice reception, great for everybody who loves the mountains. The road there rather "an experience" - half an hour in firsdt and second gear, a warning might have helped, we thought we were on the wrong road. Good food! Might go back for hiking.

While Bellinzona is in Switzerland and a lovely train ride from Lucerne, you feel like you're in Italy. There are several medieval castles within walking distance to explore as well as great shopping and restaurants.

nice ski resort, bit hidden from the rest of switzerland but great for a weekend, especially when there has been a dump. Airolo itself has seen better times. There are a couple of restaurants in the street in front of the station, not much to see otherwise

Bellinzona is a perfectly located central hub in the canton of Ticino. It is easily accessible from various directions and by multiple means of transport. For air travel, one convenient option is flying to Milan-Malpensa Airport, from which direct train connections take approximately two hours to reach Bellinzona. Another option is arriving via Mulhouse-Basel Airport and then traveling by train through the Gotthard Tunnel. The area around Bellinzona is also well-connected by highways from Italy and northern Switzerland, as well as by an efficient railway network. The city itself offers numerous sightseeing opportunities, with its three castles being a must-visit.
