It’s hard to review this property because we want people to stay there so it stays open, but we also want to keep it a closely guarded secret as it’s just too special!
The hotel is a typical Châlet style. Our room was very generously sized and we had the most exquisite view over the water.
It’s not been decorated for a while, but that only adds to its charm.
The restaurant on site was superb, we didn’t even think of eating anywhere else!
We will be back.

Great combo of hotel and restaurant. The room on the basic side, without unnecessary perks but with super comfortable mattress. The price includes breakfast which is far from complete. Moreover, the restaurant is also an option for delicious home made dinner. Owners friendly and attentive.

Excellent location, beautiful view. Easy to pick up keys in a box. Well equipped kitchen, salt, pepper, oil and more. Welcome pasta to cook and coffee. Underfloor heating. Cowbells every morning instead of an alarm clock.

It is too far from Interlaken not having a view of the lake...
It is too far from Interlaken not having a view of the lake as pictures shown, it is located on the top of the mountain, it takes about 20 mn drive on an extremely narrow road to reach there.
Not a single supermarket or restaurant nearby, it is recommended for people seeking tranquility and peace, not for those who plan to visit other places every day.
a washing machine would be an advantage.
I liked that it has Fondue maker and all what's needed to prepare some homemade meals.

Very nice location, great view of the lake and excellent walks.
Be careful of the local drivers. In the 3 days we stayed at Axalp we were bullied by 4 very aggressive drivers on the mountain roads.
