The location was great! Couldn’t be any better. Close to the beach and not far from tofino. Kind of in the middle of all the beaches. Accomodation was lovely, despite the initial leak, we got sorted out and had no other problems throughout the trip. We got moved very quickly and upgraded to say sorry for the hassle! Staff were very accommodating. Breakfast room was lovely, very unique and so homely with the fire. We had dinner there one of the nights too and that was lovely kitchen staff were very friendly too.

Very nice apartment hotel near the Coc Beach. We were located in the apartment beat the beach which was a great advantage. Comfortable bed and quite big bathroom and kitchen area. We didn’t use a hot tube as you need a key for it and works only during the reception hours. Generally I looked this place a lot.

The photographs do NOT do the suites justice. The apartment we stayed in was incredible, and the view was breathtaking. We had absolutely everything we wanted in the apartment as far as kitchen and bathroom stuff go. We even had some naughty sea lions playing under our window!

I've been coming here for almost 20 years regularly. My daughter lives right next door to you. So i visit often.I choose to get a room when i show up unannounced so i don't invade her privacy...I know all of the stores, restaurants and coffee shops It's a wonderful getaway.

The town is quaint and a bit sleepy at this time of year (after Labour Day) but the natural surroundings are stunning and exceed expectations. The beaches we saw and the trails we hiked were magnificent. A few restaurants were not open for dinner at this time of year so a bit challenging to eat at times but there’s a co-op in town (grocery store) and a pizza place which was excellent. Easy to navigate in the town; driving distance to Tofino also.

It was drier than the coast was. The drive to and from Tofino/Uclulet was worth the money saved on accommodation. There are walks nearby, (Cathedral Grove for example), and on a nice day the downtown quay ...

Have been to Tofino 3 times now and as a senior I find it to be overpriced and overhyped. If you are young and into the surf scene then Tofino is a must go. Otherwise most of the activities found there (except any unique scenery of course) can be found in less expensive places.

Ucluelet is a beautiful town on the Pacific Ocean on...

Ucluelet is a beautiful town on the Pacific Ocean on Vancouver Island. There are beaches close by (the water is pretty cold, though) and many places to hike. We found that Ucluelet is much less touristy than Tofino. So if you like the touristy stuff, Tofino may be a better place for you. The whole area is surrounded by natural beauty.

Port Alberni is a blue-collar town midway between Nanaimo and the tourist towns on the west coast of Vancouver Island. It's a great place to shop before you head for Tofino or Ucluelet. Shopping there is truly expensive. Most major store banners are represented in Port Alberni, and the prices are reasonable. Bare Bones Fish House, I found it expensive and the meal poorly executed. On the other hand, Buckshort's Bar and Grill is a gem.

Here is a tourist destination that is expecting the best...

Here is a tourist destination that is expecting the best from visitors and sets up to serve all comers. With EV fast chargers, accessible in-sidewalk bike pumps and a progressive attitude to water bottle usage (water fill station for reusable containers to reduce single use plastic), and directing public parking fees back to improving local infrastructure, this is what every tourist town should aspire to. Recommend getting the HONK parking app as all paid parking signage includes the location code making parking easy without having to feed the meter.

Great wilderness areas and plenty of walking trails to do, the wild pacific and lighthouse loop is recommended. Lots of eating options and the Uccy brewery was excellent. A very rugged / dramatic coastline.

Port Alberni is a small charmless place to visit.

Port Alberni is a small charmless place to visit. We visited in older to take the boat trip that goes down the inlet down to Bamfield and back. That was a very enjoyable trip except for the high price of food on board the boat.
