The location is superb - all the breakfasts and dinners with the view over the ocean and its sounds - is just so relaxing. This is definitely a very picturesque location. Grocery was just about 5-7min of drive, which had all the basic stuff you'd need. And also 0 light pollution, so you can see Milky Way with your own eyes. And if you have a good camera on your phone, or a nice digital camera - it gets even better. Sunrises there are also leveled up.

Everything about the place is good. Quiet with awesome view. Clean and spacious rooms. Very nice staff overall (at the restaurant, convenience store and front desk). Perfect for someone looking for quiet getaway. Wish I could stay longer.

What a quaint place to visit, the Port of Sydney, the Big...
What a quaint place to visit, the Port of Sydney, the Big Fiddle, the boardwalk and the shopping was great. I was there during the Celtic Festival and had a great time. When the cruise ships are docked, there is small vendors open for shopping and I found some great items for purchase. It was easy to get around the city, although at the time of our visit, there was some construction going on, which slowed down the traffic. All in all i would love to come back in the future!!

we didn't stay long enough to get a real feel for the place. the ocean side and road trip around the Cabot Trail were the best, stopping at the different parkways on the trip. our hosts were great and informative about the whole experience. The roads are great to travel on. The people are friendly and helpful everywhere we went. The roadside stops were very scenic just as we were told they would be. definitely going back again someday!

This was our second trip to North Sydney.
This was our second trip to North Sydney. This trip we used as bookends to our ferry trip to and from Newfoundland. This is a quiet little town, surrounded by incredible beauty. The Black Spoon is a must if you enjoy good food. Friendly people and lots to do. NS would be a good home base for exploring the area.

Not much that can be said other than it's a good place to...
Not much that can be said other than it's a good place to stop for groceries (a big Sobey's) and wine (NSLB) on the way to more scenic parts of Cape Breton. We can recommend lunch at the Fleur de Lys restaurant in that same shopping centre. Doesn't look like much but the hospitality, chowder ad biscuits are great!

We LOVED our accommodations, the quiet and the beach! Most restaurant food was very good. Loved whale watching and the gondola.
Would have like a continental breakfast as there were no restaurants within walking distance. Also, restaurants close too early and many ran out of food so decided to close! 150 people at the pizza place (because no place else was open with availability) on a Sunday wasn’t fun.

A lovely small community on the lake.
A lovely small community on the lake. A pretty place to stop for a picnic and a walk along the bay. You can spot giant blue herons and bald eagles and enjoy the beautiful views - especially at sunset from the dock at the community centre.

The Bras D'or area is beautiful and should be included as part of your Cape Breton/Cabot trail experience. There are lots of nice places to stay including the Kow Motel as long as they don't try and put you in room #2!!
We always enjoy the visits to Cape Breton and usually 2 days is enough unless you are an avid hiker. We find the Skyline trail in the Park a nice hike and trip up on the gondola at Ingonish during Fall colors awesome. The whole time in Cape Breton during fall colors, this year October 6th through probably 21st the colors are spectacular.

We loved St Peter’s and was central to the concerts we attended during the Celtic Colours International Festival. It is situated by the canal that connects Bras d”Or Lake and the Atlantic Ocean. We enjoyed walking the path along the ocean and in the provincial park. It is a very pretty area and has a friendly small town feel. We attended a Seniors Craft Sale and an Open House at the Fire Hall, which were impromptu events for us, and people we talked with at these events were friendly, informative and interesting as they shared their stories.

When I left (For the second year running) there are no facilities to obtain refreshments if you have a long wait. (I arrived because of check out time 11:30 and the flight did not leave until 16:45) That is a long wait without the ablitly to have some refreshments.
