Lovely hotel. Right down the end of Banff Ave so away from the busy part of town, but local bus stops right outside (free bus pass is provided by the hotel) and the free ski shuttle to 3 mountains is just across the road. The hot pools were amazing, such a beautiful setting. Nice sauna, no cold plunge pool but standing outside in the snow is a quick way to cool off. Good cafe/restaurant on site. Spacious bedroom with plenty of daylight and balcony. Nice touches like a feature wall which is a map of the region and canoe shaped drawer handles.

I had an early morning appointment at Cloudbreak so decided to stay the night at the new Alt Hotel since I've had good experiences at several of their other properties. This location is the best among all of them! I loved the beautiful detail they put into the rooms. Absolutely stunning. This hotel is definitely a gem. The bed was very comfortable as well. I also like how they put automatic under mount lighting on the night stands and bathroom vanity. Very convenient for when you have to use the washroom in the middle of the night. The comfort level and cleanliness were spot on as well. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The gentlemen who checked us in was the most friendly, welcoming and accommodating front desk clerk I’ve ever come across. This was the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. I will definitely be back.

It was an amazing stay. We got one of the rooms with kitchenette, which was perfect and it had all the amenities needed. The room was very big and the beds super confortable. The laundry was also very good and easy to use and they are located ideally. The hotel is in the outside of Banff, which gives plenty of opportunities to see some wildlife, but they provide free bus service to the city center which was very convenient. We stayed there for three nights and it was like being at home. 100% would recommend.

We were there because of an emergency landing of our plane which was traveling to California. I didn't see much of Edmonton therefore. They did say Lake Louise and Banff were only 4 hours away, so that might make it interesting for someone.

Location is very close to everything. Shuttle bus is great. Did not use the pool or hot tub if available but saw others heading in that direction. Would have liked to have had a place to hang out together as there were 7 of us. I never thought to ask about the business center to use it. Might have been a solution in the evening to play games and chat. Pizzeria Sophai, best pizza ever.

It’s quieter than Banff but close enough to commute for dinners, shopping etc. Nice small town with beautiful mountains. Hard to find a place to eat after 8 or 9 PM, other than fast food. They may advertise open till 11 but then you discover the kitchen closed hours earlier.

The people were cheerful and welcoming even as they're recovering from the fire of 2024. We ate at the Raven restaurant which had fantastic food and excellent service in addition to outdoor seating. The Maligne Lake sunset cruise was wonderful with a fun guide.

Red Deer is a beautiful place to visit with lots of treed parks, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, rec-centres, historic downtown and plenty of shopping. It is close to Sylvan Lake and Lacombe for added adventure and exploring.

Medicine Hat is a very beautiful city with lots to see and do. Their paths and hiking trails are stunning and the history of Medicine Hat is plentiful. Yes it has its ugly dirty side, but that is literally everywhere you go! I love being here and I love spending time learning and expanding my knowledge of the badlands.

I liked that the flooring was ceramic and not rug. We were in pet friendly room and really dislike rug on the floor. I didn’t like that our room didn’t have a table and chairs. We ate in the room and it made it difficult.
