0everything was superlative. Always diverse, fresh food, a multitude from which you can choose. Appreciate the fact that between meals they have consistent snacks (cookies, puff pastry, pie, pancakes, pizza). Quality drinks, absolutely all, it should be noted that you can ask for daily bottles (1.5l) of water for consumption. The staff is a 10, polite, clean, very well trained and hardworking, absolutely everyone in the complex is a 10. impeccable cleanliness everywhere, every day, they changed the towels and cleaned the rooms. every time you came back to the room, it was ventilated and the air conditioner was on.
the very polite cleaning ladies greeted you with the same warm smile every time you passed the corridor. clean pool, new, clean sunbeds.
I stayed on the 7th floor, room 719, I had the most beautiful view. the rooms are large, the mattress very comfortable, comfort of 10. I have nothing to complain about. it was the most successful vacation from all points of view! we can't wait to come back! surely, from now on we will only come to the continental hotel.
The hotel parking is protected 24/24, always closed, you can leave by car because they have video cameras and its number is registered at the reception. Parking costs BGN 20 per day.
Next to the hotel you have a shop open until 12 o'clock, for cigarettes, hygiene, miscellaneous. The sea is a maximum of 5-6 minutes on foot. The hotel is very well located. very good food! there was no way you could leave hungry. wonderful sweets, cake, baklava, ice cream!

UkraineWe visited Golden Sands for the first time a few years ago, staying at another hotel, and that was when we first discovered the beauty of this Bulgarian resort. This year we were happy to return, and we chose Hotel Astoria.
Why did we decide on Astoria? Both my wife and I work in the hotel industry in one of the northern capitals of Europe, so we approached the choice from a professional point of view. We carefully read the reviews on Booking.com, looked at the overall rating (which was high), and considered the location — close to the sea and the central points of the town. And we were not mistaken!
From the moment we arrived, we evaluated the housekeeping with a professional eye, and it was excellent. At check-in, we faced a small difficulty, which sometimes happens, but the reception team, especially Elena and manager Katrin, resolved it quickly and professionally. This not only did not spoil our mood but actually lifted it and left us with admiration. Well done!
The food and entertainment were also on a high level. We are certain we will come back again.

IsraelFrom outside the hotel doesn't look impressive, but everything is new or renovated, our room was spacious, recommend room with sea view. The bed is comfortable, the shower is good too. The food was better then we expected, everything was delicious and big variety. Some queue to the station with grilled meat, but there are enough other choices if you don't want to wait. The snack bar is also nice.The drinks were good too, some better, some less, but overall we were satisfied. The pools area was clean , no problem to find available sunbeds and inside heated pool was good when it's chilly outside. Animation was ok, we didn't expect any at all, but there were a few nice things, like cabaret show and party with DJ and some other activities.

The rooms are elegants and stunning. there’s also a restaurant where you can dine or order food. The food is excellent and entirely organic. Truly one of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed — perfect for anyone looking for peace and tranquility.

I saw there a lot of people who take 4-5 plates of food and they leave 70% of the food on the table, because they can't eat so much !!! WHY DID THEY DO THAT ??? I tell you why... Because they don't care about the food that goes in the trash because of them... and they are... I don't want to say how..................... So, guys, from you leftovers, you can feed another 3 people !!!!!
You can eat as much as you want, but put in your plate what you eat, not more...
I eat quite a lot, but I put on my plate ONLY what I can eat... If I want more, I go and put again what I want...

I had room 817, the view over the Black Sea was awesome, the room was cleaned every day, the food was a lot and diverse, the people in the restaurant very friendly and quick with their service! The Lady from the reception was very kind, she speaks English very well and ready to answear my questions! I didnt see her name but she is tall with long hair, thank you for your support!

The resort is, on my opinion, the best on the Bulgarian sea shore, for our generation (60+). Our trip to Golden Sands was comfortable by our personal car. Parking (paid) difficult to manage when the hotel is almost full.

To get to the city center from the location we were hosted was very easy. 10 minutes walking to arrive the restaurants area (which were plenty and with good foods). Also small markets with beach articles and mini-markets to buy what you needs (groceries and other stuff) were near by.

Very crowded over the w/e as of friday and the poll and pool area are too small for all guests
Would not recommend the hotel part which is just above the outdoor pool area if one want to relax
However great during the week in every aspect

Very lovely and compact if you're staying near Varna Beach.
Very lovely and compact if you're staying near Varna Beach. Huge pedestrian zone, easy to navigate the city (I used Google Maps the first day, and then I was roaming like a native). Loved the huge stretch of park along the coast, all the restaurants and bars. I arrived just as school started, so on the fringe of the season. People very, very friendly. Absolutely loved the beach bar and restaurant Pechkata and the Sea View. Calamar Bar. And my favorite, The Forrest. Swam with the dolphins at the dolphinarium (fantastic!) and even bumped a jellyfish on the head by accident (lucky that, but the poor sucker ended up on the beach two days later). For my first visit to Bulgaria, very positive (I mean, the jellyfish did NOT sting me, so there is that).

This is no resort, it'a a location full of hotels and that's all. Nothing to do, nowhere to go, nothing to see. Small patches of beaches, allways over-full and expensive. There is nothing to "like". Go elsewhere.

Golden sands now is very turistic and way too crowded. The walking corridor along the beach and the hotels now is full of stores and restaurants and sometimes you cannot even walk.
There are several things to explore in the area besides de beach ( which to me is better towards Varna than golden sands). Varna sea garden, and harbor are a nice thing to explore while you are there. Also other historical places as the Ovech fortress or the aladhza monastery are good options. We also took our chances and went to Nesebar old town ( 2 hours from varna) totally worthed.

Nice and not too big place to spend few days. The locals are trying to make it look nicer as lots of road maintenance and repair was taking place. Nice food places around (but not all especially the one around the main street). Suggest places like 'Okoto' and 'Panorama' for both lunch and dinner

From a tourism perspective, it's not a very interesting city...
From a tourism perspective, it's not a very interesting city. It has a large park, a less impressive pedestrian street, and a long beach that is crowded and littered (lots of cigarette butts are scattered around). There are a few scattered socialist-era sights still in the city. I would recommend visiting the nearby Balchik instead.
