Absolutely fantastic hotel with the Christmas market right on the doorstep. Can't fault anything about this place. Nicely decorated room with lots of space, great ensuite power shower with really lovely toiletries, comfy bed, lots of choice for breakfast, secure parking available behind the hotel at a good price, great facilities, friendly and helpful staff. In a great area at the side of the river with lots of restaurants, cafes and bars within walking distance. The Christmas market in the caves are amazing and are well worth a visit only 8 mins walk from the hotel. Easy walking for all ages and fitness. Will definitely go here again. No complaints from us at all.

This was a faultless place to stay and the overall design of the conversion of the former church buildings just adds a special topping. The public spaces are chic and have tasteful art installed, some of which is for sale. The dining area is unique, in my opinion, and worth a visit for a meal even if not staying. Our room was well apportioned, spotless and lacked for nothing. The staff were very attentive and even spotted it was my birthday so gave me cakes as I checked out.

The sauna and pool were great, breakfast was amazing, the Bistro was good for dinner and drinks (restaurant was fully booked for our stay). The bike room was very handy for us, we also liked the area for cycling as we came from Germany and went also to Belgium. Maastricht is a beautiful city with warm and helpful people. The Christmas market was amazing and our kids loved it. We all loved the street food and coffee next to the church. Overall a must visit city for those who like to experience festive season, watch historical monuments and learn more about the cities history and shopping.

Just a beautiful place.

Just a beautiful place. Of course it is a tourist place, but the local people are genuinely welcoming, and rightly proud of their clean and superbly presented town. Yes, We are fans (several visits) however, if you enjoy safe and happy places you too will love it. Enjoy!

We came to Roermond for a wedding, and we were very pleasantly surprised. It was our first visit, and what a very pretty town we discovered. We stayed on the outskirts, in a very nice hotel. We wandered through the old churches, and everywhere we went was lovely and clean. It's not a high octane town, but for a few days of chill out it was very pleasant. The restaurants on the waterfront looked lovely, it's just a shame we didn't discover them until it was time to leave! We had a very quick look around an incredible outlet mall, just wish we'd had more time. It honestly felt on a par with Florida mall - well almost anyway! We ate in our hotel, Hotel restaurant, cafe Parkzicht, and the food was delicious!

Apart from the market there is not much to do in Sittard. Shopping is the usual, but the street is long and there is no ambiance. Main time to visit Sittard is during festivals (Carnival, St Joep and Octoberfest).

A tidy and relaxed town. We liked the mining museum, which was unpretentious but well-presented and very-well explained in English/German/Dutch by a local guy with connections to the industry. The other big draw is the Roman baths (extensive unearthed foundations of the whole complex, nicely presented inside a large modern warehouse structure). Rail station is not far from Tulip hotel and is well-served to Aachen and Maastricht.

Kerkrade is a very nice town in the south of the Netherlands. We visited nearby places like Heerlen and Vaals and we visited the Botanic Garden in Kerkrade. Of course we needed to buy the local cake: Vlaai. Especially the Cherry Vlaai was superb!

Very difficult to find how to access the entrance to the...

Very difficult to find how to access the entrance to the hotel …. Needs to be better signposted even trying to gain entry to the hotel was difficult. Saw a barrier that was closed and didn’t know how we were supposed to get past it …reversed back and drove around probably the wrong way to get into the car parking area . Disabled parking was not clearly marked….it must have taken a total of 30 minutes to sort out where and what we needed to do to enter the hotel . What a shame for our first impressions, but the disappointment just grew due to other aspects of our stay .cold , poor menu’s lacking in comfort all round .

Our accommodation was very clean and spacious. Bungalows were pretty new. Good location for cycling trips, walking. Small footbal/basketball pitch. Large swimming pool, unfortunately not heated. Water was clean and warm enough for swimming, but too cold for chilling out with the kids. I will come back there. Great discovery on my list of weekend stay places.

We loved Maastricht.

We loved Maastricht. The city is very beautiful and easy to explore and get around. We enjoyed the huge variety of shops (it is a shopping paradise), restaurants were very good, the food was good everywhere, great service, interesting sites, cleanliness and helpful people around. The cobble stones all over, were a bit hard for the feet, but they complement the beauty of the city. The fair in front of the main square cathedral, was extremely busy with lots of people, but it had a variety of interesting things on offer, lots of food stalls, an ice-ring for skating enthusiasts and a wonderful Christmas feel all around. Our highlight of Maastricht, was the fabulous Andre Rieu Christmas Concert which we attended. We highly recommend it for old and young people alike. It is an unforgettable experience of a lifetime.
