BelgiumWe stayed here while working at a fantasy festival and will definitely be booking this hotel again next year. The owners are very kind and welcoming. The room was spacious with a nice bathroom. The breakfast was lovely and fresh. The hotel is situated in a very peaceful area so we were glad to come home to a quiet and relaxed environment after working all day.

The breakfast is really satisfying. Special thanks to the lady who was on duty on 6th July in the morning. She was really nice and helpful.

Silentium really lives up to its name. It is located in glorious bucolic surroundings. It was very quiet and peaceful and we thought that the tranquillity and calmness of the house helped to create an atmosphere of calm and relaxation. The house is beautifully and tastefully furnished. We were especially appreciative of the air conditioning in the room given that the weather was unseasonably hot. We liked the large and luxurious shower and found the bed very comfortable.
The breakfast was excellent; varied, delicious and with superb coffee and tea. We were offered kind and welcoming hospitality, and particularly appreciated the suggestions about local places to visit on our bikes as we wanted to take advantage of the excellent cycling in the area.

People who run the place are very nice, kind and helped us with everything.
Amazing breakfast! And I liked that we were encouraged to take with us what we haven’t finished to eat later, because the food was great and it should not be wasted.
The place itself is very warm and cosy, and had everything we needed.
And it’s located in a very quiet area, no noise has bothered us neither at night and during the day.

Room was modern, clean, comfortable and spacious. Staff very friendly and spoke really good English. We really enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. There was also a locked garage where we could store our bikes overnight.

Diest is really understated.
Diest is really understated. There are some lovely historic parts of the town to explore, the Grand Place has some very good restaurants and it's surrounded by beautiful countryside. It's a very calm, peaceful place to visit. Our favourite restaurant was Nicky's Catwalk in the Grand Place.

A very pretty little town.
A very pretty little town. Very clean and safe to walk and cycle around. Lots of eating and drinking options and plenty of shops. There is a very nice river running through town. From the bar at the back of Jacos Bar/Restaurant you can sit and watch the ducks on the river.

Diest is a charming small town in Belgium that offers everything a family could need. During our 8-day stay, we enjoyed the beautiful old town, filled with cozy cafés, restaurants, and pubs, as well as lovely local stores alongside major brands. The town is surrounded by clean air and lush greenery, making it a refreshing place to relax. Halve Maan Park was a highlight, with its outdoor pool and sand beach, perfect for family fun. The park also offers golf, children’s playgrounds, and free access to most areas, including parking in the nearby forest.
One of the most fascinating aspects of Diest is the Beguinage, a UNESCO-protected site dating back to the 13th century. The history of these communities, founded by single women who supported and protected each other, is truly inspiring. Diest's excellent location also makes it a convenient base for exploring other cities, with a train station that connects directly to the heart of Brussels. The people of Diest are incredibly polite, welcoming, and laid-back, which made our experience even more enjoyable.

I had never been before in Aarschot. But it is a very nice city to visit.
Many beautifull housese, old begijnhof...
It is not a big city, but from here you can make trips to the surrounding city's, Scherpenheuvel, diest..
