Wonderful rooms - modern, exceptionally clean and had all necessary amenities. The balcony was perfect for stargazing and had a good sense of privacy. The room was quiet and well isolated - I believe all rooms were booked but you could not hear the rest of the occupants. Lien and Gregory were the perfect hosts - prepared a delicious breakfast, gave great tips for the exploration of the area and always had a big smile on! We visited the shop in front of the hotel which had a great selection of local drinks and snacks. I recommend this place to anyone staying in the area and look forward to returning.

This is an exceptional property. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our room was spacious, beautifully renovated and very comfortable. The grounds are delightful and demand an evening stroll. We had the most delicious breakfast and thanks to Perrine came away with an enjoyable Spotify playlist. We had the perfect stay.

I would like to come again to this beautiful establishment in the quiet Grimbergen. Mister Jan and all the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was large, spacious, clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and the variety was sufficient. I had dinner at the restaurant, it was really nice. I definitely recommend it.

Gerda is a very good host. I had requested her for accommodating an early check-in and a late check-out, and she was gracious to accept my request. She also gave me a lovely tour of the property, and a brief about the neighborhood. I needed airport cab and it was a bit late, but yet she managed to get me a cab at decent rate. Her pleasing personality and kind nature puts one at ease. The property has some ancient relics and it adds to the very homely vibe of the place. And not to forget the little cosy garden, I was fortunate to see all the flowers in bloom. The wisteria blooms added a very interesting look to the place.

We arrived by bike and one of our group had an incident and was taken to hospital for several days. Since the incident happened during the day of our stay and we were too late to cancel this persons room, the manager did not charge the room. Also the helpfulness and kindness of the staff was above expecation. If you are staying overnight around Halle, Hotel Les Eleveurs is the place to book!!!

It was central to all that we wanted to see and do.

It was central to all that we wanted to see and do. Having a car is important, it makes getting around easier. We did take a hop on hop off bus, as we do in most cities so that it will help us to know more of the history as well saving us a lot of walking. At our ages 77 & 72 walking all day isn't easy. In one day in Bruges, we visited the Grote Markt (Market Square) where we ate lunch, where my husband wanted to try climbing the Belfry tower [366 stairs]but the tickets were sold out and we explored Burg Square and its landmarks. Wish we had taken a canal cruise. For fun we visited the Bruges museum in virtual reality. We ate at several restaurants and found the food very good. For us the Thai restaurant was the best.

Lovely town, the abbey is GORGEOUS!

Lovely town, the abbey is GORGEOUS! So many great, relaxing places to stroll. We walked around the Prinsenbos and met a man named Didier Francois (a musician) who very kindly talked to us about the 'lost wax' casting class he was teaching. Highly recommend eating at Fenikshof, and definitely sampling the beers from the Abbey

Wemmel is a suburban area beyond the circular Brussels road.

Wemmel is a suburban area beyond the circular Brussels road. Once you pass the junction from the Atomium area you feel you are in a different world. It is still urban, but is less rushed and more up market. The houses straddling the road from the city to Wemmel are varied in style and interesting. There are shops, a post office and plenty of restaurants. Plenty of buses go into the area from the end of the metro ( line 6)-240,241,242 and 243. They are not plentiful ( particularly on Sundays)but about every 20 minutes. The walk to the metro is about 2 miles and can be done quickly down the main road. It is a quiet suburban area which you would be most likely to use as a retreat from Brussels. The Atomium , Exhibition area and Stadium are the nearest tourist sites. We used it to visit the Johnny Halliday Exhibition there.

A sleepy town with everything you need, from restaurants to shops. We especially enjoyed the local brewery, even though none of the staff there explained to us (and didn't even know!!!) our most popular batch of Grimbergen beer, namely "blanche", which is not produced in the brewery at all, so it is a mystery to me where it is bottled and why it is not sold at all in Belgium, unlike, for example, Switzerland or Italy.

The bathroom had mold on the walls. The bed was no boxspring but 10 cm from the ground. A lot of steps inside the room. Old furniture. everything was tired, old and dirty. Time to completely renovate the place!
