Extremely good location, helpful and lovely staff, clean room, spacious common area, and complementay capsule coffee. At this price I would say it's unbeaten among other hotels in Cairns. One thing is that the rooms aren't quite noise-proof. So if your sleep is shallow, there is a chance that people coming back late could wake you up with their heavy steps.

Blue Lagoon is an excellent location, with convenient parking, a short walk to Trinity Beach & a selection of restaurants. The staff are professional, helpful & kind, especially John, Joleen & Stacey. The pool is very clean with a view of the Lagoon. We enjoyed the swimming pool. The air conditioning in the room worked well. The location was OK - only about a 3 block walk to the waterfront. At sunset we could watch the flying foxes going by. We originally booked for two nights and then decided to stay for five. We couldn't extend the original booking on booking.com, so we made a separate one for the additional 3. The hotel was able to amalgamate the two bookings so that we could have the same room for all five nights. And we ended up with a big room with a full size fridge.

Reception staff were superb. in particular Molly who went to great trouble to move us to a quieter location. Being in our 70/80s the original cabin next to the children play area was a little noisy - to say the least. Molly moved us to. rainforest cabin which was a delight and very quiet.

The weather in Cairns was hot and humid, but the region’s beaches and rainforest were beautiful. We enjoyed the Kuranda Scenic Railway despite the heat in the carriage. The Skyrail was a highlight, offering stunning views and unique things to explore at each stop.

We stayed on the quiet beachfront main road at the southern end of Palm Cove which is not as busy yet has plenty of restaurants and a few shops. The beach is only swimmable on certain days owing to the strong onshore winds. There is a pleasant easy half hour walk through rainforest and beachfront to the next village of Clifton Beach which has a small shopping mall with a large supermarket - 5 minutes by car.

hotel was right on the beach so excellent for sunrise and sunset photos. beach is picturesque with a nice lookout at one end. close to restaurants, quick drive to a supermarket. phone reception was patchy on beach front but fine around the corner. room has only a bar fridge not full size. off road parking can be tight if you are last one's home.

The North Cairns area can be noisy because of its location...

The North Cairns area can be noisy because of its location near the airport. Road noise is also a concern during the day because the apartment is on the1st floor and no sound barriers between its balcony and the road nearby. Overall, though, the noise level greatly reduces in the evening and did not affect our sleeping at night.

The beautiful breeze was lovely whenever I sat on a comfortable seat on the grass near the beach... We thought the views were amazing in every way we turned on the walkway across the road from the Agincourt Beachfont...We will be returning. It will most likely be in the winter though, as humidity is very high in the summer for us, as a couple from the central coast, in N.S.W. Thank you! It is close enough for a drive to Cairns, Port Douglas and other beautiful spots.

A good alternative to the much trendier and therefore...

A good alternative to the much trendier and therefore pricier northern beaches of Trinity Beach and Palm Cove. And definitely much quieter! A comprehensive shopping strip on the main street and of course not far from the large shopping complex at Smithfield. A few restaurant options available, including the yacht club. There is a bus service into Cairns CBD, but I would recommend hiring a vehicle for your stay. Taxis are very expensive.

Not recommended at all. Not as it claims. Not a holiday house. It is A holiday apartment in a Queenslander with owners living on the premises with two territorial jack Russells. No parking. Not an easy address to find for a traveller. Take your own milk for coffee.

If you have a hire car, Westcourt is a good place to stay. Away from the mad tourist traffic and late-night city noises. Just a two-minute drive to the Esplanade, Cairns Station, major shopping centre and the city centre.

For our family, location great.

For our family, location great. Short trip from airport, quick lunch at Red Barron Hotel, changed for trip to venue at Redlynch. We were only there for a few hours but found it to be a 2 star rating. I would not book this again.

Surrounded by eating places and night market few doors down.... All closed daytime but cafes around the corner and Woolworths in abbot Street. 20 minute walk to Cairns Central and easy walk along esplanade. Great location
