Perfect location and a beautiful view from the breakfast area. Convenient underground parking (it’s a public garage but you follow the signs for the hotel as it’s connected directly to it). Great self service laundry facilities. Nicely designed rooms. Very kind and friendly reception staff.

We booked this property at random as we were headed from Wien to the lakes. We were blown away! There’s so much to like about the property. The rooms are modern and recently renovated, and are thoughtfully decorated. The facilities are accessible and my husband loved the gym. The breakfast was out of this world - SO DELICIOUS - and there’s a communal fruit bowl in the lobby which was such a nice touch. The terrace is so pretty as well if you visit in the summer. There’s a SPAR very close by as well if you need to buy anything. The manager (or maybe owner?) is very kind and personable.

The breakfast is great and ok for Gluten free options, loads of choice and all fresh and great quality. Rooms have kettle, fridge and coffee machine- perfect! we did not know it was a "Singles" hotel but it was fine for my mother and us. People were friendly and staff was lovely and accommodating. Beds were comfortable and views were breathtaking. The forest and field/trail walks were lovely and hiking and swimming were our major pass times as well as visiting with friends. The indoor swimming pool was lovely and the outdoor pond a great plunging pond in September after a hot tub visit. Dinners were exceptional and breakfast is "healthy" with many choices. There is always a vegan/vegetarian option available.

The spa resort is very well maintained and very clean. The sauna world is an amazing place, and the classes are a great experience. The staff are friendly and speak many languages, including English. If the staff did not speak English, they kindly asked people around to help translate. We learnt a little of the German language, and they did not judge us for trying. I'd advise learning the German language before travelling it helps. The beds were comfortable. The rooms were modern.

Linz is an industrial and admin centre on the (definitely...

Linz is an industrial and admin centre on the (definitely not blue) Danube river . Small airport with (as at July 2025) 2 flights a week from London STN. Pedestrianised town centre with a mix of old and new architecture gives no clue that the pleasant clean town has an active steel works. No special tourist draw but a reasonable base for touring and onward travel, Large Danube cruise ships stop at Linz but most passengers are sent to Salzburg by coach and make minimal contribution to the Linz economy.

We are glad that we can stay in Hallstatt for 2 nights to explore the charms of the town. We arrived on Christmas Eve and it was so busy with tourists. We have to wait for an hour to get lunch at restaurant as it was fully booked. But the restaurant service is quick and food is satisfying.

I was uncertain how to find my hotel and a woman who was on...

I was uncertain how to find my hotel and a woman who was on my bus went out of her way to help me. On another occasion, I couldn't find a restaurant and a resident took the time to show me. I ended up not eating there, but at Eden, where she had asked for directions. The pizza there was one of the best I have ever had (and I've had a lot). A boat ride on Wolfgangsee is a must, as is taking the cog railway to the top of the mountain and admiring the scenery. Also, spend time walking or sitting by the lake, very calming. And be sure to drop by the Blue Lake Sports Outlet for amazing bargains and a very lovely shopkeeper.

Obertraun is a very small town opposite Hallstatt lake. Peaceful quiet place for us to explore by walking around . We found fresh beers & good food in pizza restaurant, hotel resort for dinner, and a bakery shop for a quick breakfast. And bus ride conveniently brought us to Hallstatt.

This is merely a city for business trips or when you want to visit special events. The city and shopping opportunities are rather limited. We spent a few hours here, travelling through, but we didn't feel that we missed anything when quickly checking out the city.
