Well situated, so nice being able to walk everywhere and if needed drive. Safe, easy parking is a great plus. Gin is a sweetie. Comfortable beds, great breakfast. A day trip to Theth is well worthwhile if you can.

This was our first time visiting Albania, and we didn’t know what to expect, but this accommodation left us with the best impressions. We were greeted by very friendly and warm staff. Throughout our stay, we felt just like at home. The staff were very caring and kind. Breakfast was hearty and delicious. The room was cleaned every day. The price for such service is far too low. We highly recommend staying here when visiting Shkodër! 🫶🥰 We will definitely come back!🫶

This is the place to stay if you want a real feel for the warmth & charm of Shkodra & its people instead of a cold impersonal hotel. The owners & staff make you feel like part of their family and give wonderful support in every need of your visit. They speak very good English and their breakfast & coffee are excellent and will accommodate any request if possible. We stayed at 3 hotels in Shkoder and this one was our favorite for its peaceful and gracious atmosphere. I recommend it

We liked the rooms, the decor of the place - and the hospitality of the staff (all of them were friendly, welcoming AND informative! They are doing a great job of promoting Shkoder as a tourist destination) Parking was also a reserved space right on the main street (don't worry, just park first and inform the hotel staff)

I always look the the reviews when looking at where to stay, and am never exactly sure what to think about a newish hotel that has a really high rating. But The Roots more than lived up the rating that they have. I loved everything about my stay. Originally I booked for 2 nights, but enjoyed Shkoder so much that I extended for another night, and didn’t think twice about staying put at The Roots. When first dropped off in the street were the hotel is located it felt a bit quite and out of the way, but I soon discovered that it is only a 3 minute stroll to the pedonale which actually makes it super central and yet away from noise and traffic. The room was excellent. All of the hotel was located on the 1 floor. As the hotel is quite recent, all of the fixtures and furniture were fresh and clean. The room was quite spacious with more than enough room to move around the bed and baggage with ease. The bed was delightfully comfortable; the perfect mix of support with softness. There was a small terrace/ balcony off each room which I didn’t utilize as it was quite cold, but can imagine it would be a nice place to sit in warmer weather and enjoy a quiet drink. The staff were super helpful; Badr was very friendly and gave excellent advice and help in getting me on a day trip to Koman Lake and Shala River (tip- if you go to either of these places and it is cool in Shkoder, it will be really cold on the river- bring warm clothes for the boat!), as well as helping with taxis, local knowledge and plans for further travel. I loved Shkoder and I hope to return someday. And if I do it will be a no-brainer that I will book a room at The Roots.
