United KingdomNormally, Booking.com does me a dirty when booking places. I booked one night here and ended up staying for five. Upon my arrival I was met by staff and offered bag carrying. There is free parking out front ( snow brush and ice scraper available) or for 11 euros per night there is a garage. I had two dogs with me who slept in the vehicle, this was not an issue as all rooms are not road facing, if they had barked it would not have disturbed anyone. Just a two minute walk up the road is a trail to the river and park. Elleven minutes drive is Ordino Arcalis ski resort ( also free parking).
My room had a heated floor, verypowerful shower that maintained a constant temperature always, big double bed, large TV with all apps, USB and plug sockets each side of the bed. Room has a fridge. The hotel's wifi is fast with a strong connection. Plenty of very nice towels, robes also at no additional charge ( makes a nice change). The room has a thermostat which has very little lag on bringing the temperature up or down, impressive in a large room. The cleaner is exceptionally thorough and the room was turned out beautifully every day even down to mopping the floors. The staff are totally on point, super helpful and accommodating. They arranged the veterinary appointment for my dogs travel back to UK at no extra charge also. My medical conditions ( allergies) were taken into consideration and my room allocated away from the restaurant ( note I did not eat in the restaurant so cannot comment outside of breakfast). My room had a lovelly balcony with views down the valley and of the river cascading down the rocks.
The Spa: I used this twice. Once it was busy and quite noisy and another time I had the place to myself which was Bliss. The Spa was an additional fee for 90minute session. The hot stone beds being my favourite. I spent an hour on one ( there are four) listening to audio books.

PolandI'm very happy that I chose this hotel. Everything was clean, the room was very warm, the bed confortable, a good choice of tasty products was offered for the breakfast. Perfect location for public transportation, thr cable car nearby. The staff was so friendly. Big thanks especially to Christina who recommended to me amazing hiking trails.

Food was really nice: first course was a buffet with a lot of choice of vegetables, soup, 2 types of warm dishes and 3 "starters/salads" ; for main course you could choose out of 3 dishes (2 meat and 1 fish) and there are 3 options for dessert.
Breakfast was also great. Only minus point: no vegetables for breakfast.
A great benefit is the bar at the hotel.
It gave me possibility to get (warm) drinks during the day.
Staff is soooo kind.
We were with our baby and they were entertaining him and also always came to talk during our meals . Felt homey.
I will for sure come back again

The breakfast and dinner in the restaurant had everything we wanted. But above all is the staff!! Every wish was fulfilled with a smile. Before we arrived, I had ordered flowers and champang for our wedding anniversary. We were welcomed with everything! Just a great service! We will be back.

A gorgeous property in the mountains. The apartment had everything you could need. We especially took advantage of the washing machine. There is a restaurant but be aware that it isn't open for dinners. You must also be prepared and bring your food as any shops are not close. The receptionist was extremely helpful about the region. Across the road is an easy walk with art installations and 10min drive into the mountains are many trails including the the spectacular sundial accessed by a chairlift.

Located a bit off Massana town centre so you do need a car/bus
During summer would be amazing to have a pool but there are pools accessible in town

I was there for the World MTB championships and the...
I was there for the World MTB championships and the organisation for getting to and from the bike park was excellent. There were plenty of buses available to the gondola to access the bike park.
I also had a days hiking where I found the route very well sign posted with paths and bridges well kept.

Ordino is a picture postcard village, with a number of smaller villages and hamlets dotted all the way up the valley towards the Arcalis ski area.
Each village/hamlet has its own local bar(s) and restaurant(s). Ordino being larger has a few more. The town of La Massana is 2 km from Ordino and is well provided for shopping and nightlife options.
The skiing and snowboarding at Arcalis is excellent. Being north-facing and above 8000 feet the season generally lasts longer than the other Andorran areas. Facilities are first class.
Runs cater from complete beginner to freeride expert and much in between. It's a great wee ski area in a beautiful part of the world.
Summertime offers myriad hillwalking and trekking routes.

The ski resort is not very big but had decent long runs, and it was super easy to get from the gondola in the middle of the town.
Went hiking around, there are some easily marked trails.
I also liked the comics museum.

The resort is very good for beginners and intermediates.
Everyone working here in all areas seemed friendly.
We all had ski school which was all at the same time and oddly morning four hours lessons were split to 09:00-12:00 and 15:00-16:00. This meant a lot of time was wasted dropping off kids and getting to lessons/waiting for people to arrive as it was twice per day. And we couldn't really go do anything else if we wanted to attend the afternoon hour lesson. Our instructors were all very good during the lessons though.
We also paid for lockers at the top of the gondola but they didn't open till 15 minutes before lessons started 5 minutes away, resulting in a mad rush of lots of people trying to get ski boots on in a small space all at the same time.
The resort was not that busy when we were there, but the bars/restaurants on the slopes filled very quickly and it was often a wait to get a table for lunch.
Facilities were all pretty good otherwise.

We stayed in La Massana for the mountain bike championships for ease of access to the cable cars and event. There were plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops. I would recommend Grupetta cafe and Babek restaurant. The views all around are stunning!!

Great resort for skiing at a beginner/intermediate level.
Great resort for skiing at a beginner/intermediate level. Beginners will blossom with fantastic ski schools. Intermediates can ski in Arinsal and take the gondola across to Pal on the other side of the mountain so more choice of skiing. Great bars and food in the restaurants is excellent. And super value for money compared to Other ski resorts.

La Massana is a nice base for exploring Andorra if you want...
La Massana is a nice base for exploring Andorra if you want to be outside of ALV (whch is only a 15 minute drive). It's got a good selection of restaurants and shops, and it's easy to get around to see the rest of the country from there. We were there in the fall, before ski season started, so enjoyed lots of color and little traffic.
