Beautiful hotel in the restored historic building of the Cistercian monastery. The staff are very polite, friendly and helpful. There is a lovely warm welcome from the moment of check in to the moment of check out. The staff in the breakfast room are very kind and provide everything needed for a very enjoyable breakfast. It is situated just a few minutes walk from the bus terminus, which makes it easily accessible from Lisbon. We were joined by our son and his family for one night as they were travelling to Porto for their flight home. They had a beautiful room which was very large with a luxurious bathroom. They are looking forward to going again. Alcobaça is a very relaxing place with gorgeous restaurants and delicious food. I would highly recommend Montebelo Mosteira. I’m already looking forward to a return visit. Thank you all very much for making our holiday a wonderful experience.

We were greeted warmly after parking in front of the easily accessible, secure, free parking in front of the hotel. Our stay at this well located and beautifully restored home of a revered Viseu teacher/archaeologist has been a highlight of our travels around Portugal. This is a family owned and run hotel and pride of ownership is clearly evident. The family was so gracious and kind and we learned so much about life in this region from them. The lovely, spacious room and large bathroom were immaculately clean and comfortable. Breakfast was abundant and delicious. Our stay was perfect and we look forward to returning!

Most friendly people & staff which Dinther utmost best to make you feel welcome. We stayed in a tent, which was perfect. Property located at a remote spot with an astonishing view! Perfect holiday with kids. 2x large swimming pools in main area, which were just perfect for young(er) kids as well, as their entry is rather shallow, slowly gradually getting more deep, making it also suitable for adults. We loved it!

The staff at the hotel were incredibly kind and attentive. They provided detailed recommendations for tourist attractions and restaurants, and even lent me an umbrella when needed. Whenever I encountered any difficulties, they were always there to help, making me feel at home despite traveling alone. Because of the amazing service, I decided to extend my stay by two more nights, even canceling my next destination. Highly recommend this place!

We had a lovely stay! The owner was very welcoming and gave us two great recommendations: a fantastic dinner at Espaço Ego and a beautiful hike to Cavão dos Conchos. Both were highlights of our trip. The room was clean and comfortable — would definitely stay here again!
