In beautiful Lakeland surroundings overlooking an idyllic brook, Glencree is situated between the villages of Bowness and Windermere. With free parking and free Wi-Fi, it serves hearty breakfasts cooked to order. Guests can swim in the property's off-site pool. Lovely building and the room was superb. Lots of attention to detail with furnishings. Bed huge and super comfy. Staff were great and Ian was fantastic with us as we arrived a little early but Ian let us have our room so we could go out around Windermere without having to come back to check in. This was much appreciated.

Originally opened in 1889, the world-famous Savoy Hotel is situated on the banks of the Thames and less than 5 minutes' walk from The British Museum and The Royal Opera House. The hotel was once visited by the likes of Sir Winston Churchill, Frank Sinatra and Katherine Hepburn. The staff had the right balance of providing supreme service, where nothing was too much trouble and were mostly preemptive, while still being personable and warm. You can find lovely hotel rooms anywhere, but finding the right staff is obviously the Savoy’s forte.

The hotel’s leisure and spa facilities include a 16-metre indoor heated swimming pool, a sauna and a gym. Convenient location for my work trip and had nice leisure facilities on site and two eating options. Cooked breakfast was great.
