Well what a ‘gem’ of place to stay in whilst visiting Mourão. We did not expect what we found and as soon as were greeted by the lovely Cristina and walked through the very small door into what I can only describe as a ‘tardis’, we were quite blown away. This place is fantastic and belongs to a lady named Maria who is an artist and has her studio on the premises. Her artwork is all around the house and so are her Mum’s sculptures. The house is amazing and so spacious which surprised us, because from the outside it is quite deceiving. We were lucky and managed to park on the road opposite the house, but the roads are very narrow and if you can’t find anywhere outside, there are some parking spaces in the little square which is a few minutes walk from the property. Our room was on the ground floor and had a good size double bed and a fantastic walk-in shower in the bathroom. We were made to feel very welcome and Cristina could not do enough for us. There is a great local Portuguese restaurant a couple of doors down from the house and where we had dinner and then a short walk to the square, which is the hub of the town and where everyone gathers to sit and drink their wine at the local bar there. The breakfast was fantastic and again made and served by Cristina. There is a lovely garden outside with plenty of seating available and there is also a roof terrace with sun-loungers, where you can lounge and watch the sun go down. We did not want to leave and will definitely stay here again. This is such good value for money and I would recommend anyone to stay here, if visiting Mourao.

This property is in a league of its own, and if I could give it a higher rating than 10, I would. The property is located in the night sky reserve of Portugal, which is an area with minimal light pollution. We were very sad that we only reserved one night here, and are planning to come back here during our next visit in Portugal. If you get a change to stay here please do! The property is pretty big, but beautiful and unique. The rooms are amazing and the service is next level! The rooms are big and clean, and the amenities are plentiful. The employees are wonderful, extremely friendly and helpful! Additionally the property has some of the oldest olive trees, a beautiful infinity pool and a relax area where you can play on a billiard table or just relax. During the night you can lay on a sun bed and watch the stars. They also serve some food. During our stay the main restaurant was not open, but they are planning on opening it again. Breakfast was also great, and there was plenty of choice.

Love love love. The property is mind blowing Simple but so sophisticated. The pool, the restaurants, the grounds. Attention to detail and the personal touches so heartfelt. I had my birthday here and they spoilt me with cake and champagne. Everything was very personal. Maria , Tatiana and all the staff went above and beyond. Can’t wait to come back next year!!💚
