What a find! Casa Carvalhal is an amazing property that is maintained to a very high standard by the owners. Our room and the ensuite were very spacious, spotlessly clean and the bed was so comfortable. Having a separate dressing room was a real bonus. The attention to detail in the rooms is exceptional. Our room had a terrace with chairs & sunloungers and it was lovely to relax outside with a book and enjoy the sun. We have visited many places and can honestly say this is definitely one of the best. The breakfast was incredible and very healthy with the majority of the food being homemade e.g. yogurt, marmalade, freshly squeezed orange juice and granola - being given a bag to take pastries, bread etc with us was a lovely touch. Herman and Luc are fantastic hosts, who clearly have a passion for what they do - they were both more than happy to help us with ideas of things to do in the area. There is plenty of parking and the property is very secure and the locked gate can only be accessed by guests. We would have no hesitation in recommending Casa Carvalhal if you are visiting Gois or the surrounding area

Everything was just great! They have put a lot of thought into everything, every tiny detail was just perfect. Their dog is very goofy and playful, the wine is amazing and we were able to relax. They also provide you with great information about the area. They cleaned our room every day and it was spotless every time. They also offer activities like wine tasting if you wish. Overall excellent service and very welcoming.

Exceptionally beautiful nature around the village, with idyllic cozy restaurants serving good food and rivers nearby. The hotel is located in a beautiful location with a wonderful view. Super nice treatment by the staff who have that little extra in the hotel's personal interior design and they are also meticulous with the cleaning. They also have a good warm feeling with the presentation of the breakfast and the selection that is served to the guests. I can happily recommend this hotel!

At the end of the holiday I booked relaxation and rest. I found it here in the hotel. The village is small and quiet. The hotel is cozy and has everything I need. The pool is very clean and for breakfast there were fresh fruit salad and croissant. The furnishing is very loving.

The location of the property was breathtaking and very quiet/calm. The property owner was extremely friendly and accommodating. Free parking on the premises, extremely clean accommodation with pool access and lovely decorated interior.

Gorgeous, superbly maintained property. This accommodation is a labour of love in every detail by its owners. The beds were very comfortable and made up every day…lovely views out of every window, all fixtures new and work well. The pool is a such a bonus to return to after a hot day of hiking. The breakfasts were superb: fresh squeezed orange juice and a very large assortment of pastries as well as bacon and eggs cooked to order.

Immaculate! Beautiful garden. Loved our individual patio area with comfortable seating as well as sun beds. Make good use of the pool. The whole place was quiet, calm and relaxing. Breakfast was tasty, including local and home made produce. The paper bag to take our uneaten bread/pastries was a really nice touch, as was the bath robes in the bedroom.

Most of the breakfast is homemade and baked on the spot which makes it extra tasty and fresh. We stayed during the summer time so we could have our breakfast on the outside terrace which makes it even more pleasant. The hostesses are extremely friendly and you can see they are prowed on the house they've built and the service they provide to the guests. The house has a lot of modern commodities which makes entering and leaving really easy. The swimming pool is amazing
