I cannot express in words how amazing this place is. First, the location is beautiful, the garden, the pool, the bungalow, a quiet green oasis. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, all prepared by their private cook and these were among the best meals we had during our trip through Madagascar (very nice, unusual starters!) The heart and diamond of the hotel, however, is their owners, a Malagasy-Swiss couple, who did EVERYTHING to make us feel comfortable and help us wherever they could. After we ran into problems with our subsequent hotel, they found a solution for us to stay another night at their place (even though they were fully booked), helped us out with the airport transfer and the back-and-forth to Toliara, drove us around and in general gave us an extremely warm, welcoming and homey feeling. THIS is Malagasy hospitality at its peak - thank you so much for all of it :)

Our stay at Villa Claire in Tulear was impeccable! With a group of 7 friends we decided to spend some days there and celebrate the NYE. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and shown around the house. It is a really nice villa with all the equipment that you need. The design of the house is extraordinary with a lot of love for detail. The huge pool with a lot of lounging areas is the perfect place to relax and calm down. Also the beautiful garden is well maintained and clean. For our group there was plenty of space to spread out and take some chill days off in pure luxury. We also had the pleasure to meet the owner Thierry and his wife, which are two lovely people that helped us right away whenever we had questions or needed some help. We will definitely come back to Villa Claire if we return back to Tulear.

We had the best stay! Hary and his family are super kind! They cook the food fresh for every order and it’s is so delicious! Hary is very honest about his tips and doesn’t do touristy prices, he help us out with every request! The room is modern, everything is very clean! We were so happy to have stayed there for a few days! Plus: you can see the ocean from the terrace! Very calm neighborhood

A perfect hotel if you need somewhere close to the airport for an early morning flight. The room (15) was large, extremely modern even by European standards, great bathroom, fridge and exceptionally clean. In fact, the best room we had in Madagascar for cleanliness and comfort. We did not eat at the hotel so can’t comment on the food.
