We loved everything about our stay at Il Sogno Umbro. The rooms and surroundings are incredibly cozy and inviting, and the location is so close to Orvieto that it's an easy walk into town. What a lovely little piece of paradise! A small, family run guest house, surrounded by a lush garden with flowers, fruit trees, fragrant herbs and home grown vegetables, as well as a nice swimming pool (which was already closed in October), an outdoor kitchen and dining area beneath a pergola laden with clusters of grapes. Our rooms were spacious, clean and very pleasant. We arrived around lunch time, and our cordial host (head of the family that also resides on the premises) was kind enough to improvise a delicious lunch of cold cuts, cheese, savory pastries filled with broccolini and sausage, a large salad from his garden and a bottle of local white wine, all for 14 euro per person. Breakfast in the bright dining room (it was a bit chilly to have it outside) was also very nice. We only stayed the one night, concluding a 10-day visit to Toscana and on our way to Fiumicino, but I can well imagine relaxing there for several days. Great value for money and lovely hospitality!
