Town/Location in Town: The hotel is pretty much by itself in the country side. This was great for a quiet night and a wonderful sleep, but it is a fair drive to get to a town. Area: See above. There is a very quiet road across the way that makes for a nice walk. Hotel: The hotel was generally very good. For the price we were really impressed with the general feel and comfort. Hosts/Staff: We couldn't have asked for nicer hosts. They were absolutely wonderful and went out of their way to make us feel very comfortable and to treat us well. Noise at night: very quiet location. Room: Bed was very comfortable, fairly basic room, but had everything we needed. The bathroom was clean and functional, Breakfast: Breakfast was basic fare of toast and coffee. Bike Storage: a covered room that was secure. Restaurant for Dinner: the hotel had a restaurant that served very good food with high quality ingredients. Extras: The hosts were simply delightful.

Posada del Oso was a highlight of our trip to Cantábria. Of all the hotels and posadas we stayed, Posada del Oso was by far the best. The spot is beautiful with stunning views of the valley and mountains around. The room was spacious, decorated on wooden chalet style, the beds and linen were super comfortable, the bathroom stocked with everything you need including a little sponge to clean the shoes, a little touch that made the difference when I needed to clean my boots after the rain. The place is just stunning inside out and has a handy free parking onsite. You can easily reach Potes and other villages around. The staff was friendly and gave us great tips to what to do, where to eat and things to see. The breakfast was another highlight of the stay with everything homemade, traditionally Spanish and super delicious. We truly enjoyed our stay and will come back for a longer stay when back to Cantábria.

absolutely brilliant location and big airy rooms with all the facilities/comforts you may want with regards to sleeping and bathroom! No Coffee/tea making facilities in the room but they are not needed as the staff is almost always available to address guests needs/requests

Lovely open setting with views. Even in July it was quiet and had lots of space. The bar was perfect to sit out on the terrace, with a lovely friendly barman. Immaculate new washing facilities and only 5 mins from Potes. Oh and the pool was large and fab too! Perfecto :-)

It’s a cute building in a quiet village with a great restaurant and a lovely outdoor pool (seasonal). It is family run and they are friendly, especially if you try to speak Spanish. We really enjoyed the very high quality food and local wine. The breakfast is simple with good coffee.

We stayed in no. 33, a large 3 bedroom end of terrace house spread over 3 floors. The view from the 2nd and 3rd floor windows are spectacular, the rooms very comfortable and nicely furnished. Top floor is luxurious with 4 post super king bed, walk in wardrobe and a large modern en suite. We found the beds very comfortable. The house was super clean and they changed our bedding and towels after 4 days. The complex is tasteful, clean and elegantly landscaped. The pool was warm and it was a treat to swim with such a spectacular view of the mountains. We often had the pool to ourselves. Location was good for us and not too far from Potes and the places that we wanted to visit. The staff were incredibly helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The combination of this wonderful house, the Portsmouth to Bilboa ferry (we allegedly saw 500 dolphins) and the wildlife and wilderness of the Picos Mountains, this has been one of our favourite holidays. We loved our stay here.

This is a paradise. Very nice location. Great place, great room. Nicest breakfast in the last years. And the baths are wonderful. Worth each cent spent. Really loved. The external baths, hot pools, are excellent. Staff was very nice. We would like to thank and post a compliment to the lady who assisted us at the internal bath. Very nice, lended us a swin cap.
