It’s stunning in pictures, but even more breathtaking up close. The view from the pool is surreal, and it’s a treat to dine and drink outside. You’re a few kilometres away from town, which is great for disconnecting from the usual humdrum of shops and tourists. Huy took great care of us, helped book a reasonably priced boat tour, and made us feel right at home. Breakfast and the a la carte dinner of Vietnamese fare were both delicious. If you’re in Cat Ba, this is a great place to stay for a different experience than the usual.
