This is one of the best accommodations my wife and I have stayed in. The host was incredible. He welcomed us with a charcuterie board and wine, and was responsive and incredibly hospitable during the rest of our stay. Since it was pouring when we arrived, he gave us an umbrella to use whenever needed. The 1-bedroom space seemed newly renovated and felt larger than the pictures. The host pre-lit the fireplace for us so it would be warm when we arrived (it was cold and rainy in April) and provided matches, fire starters, and firewood for our remaining nights. We had no need for air conditioning, but there are two AC units. There is a full-size refrigerator, microwave, electric stove and oven, coffee maker + pods, and plenty of kitchenware (utensils, glassware, silverware, dishes, pots, pans, containers, etc). And it's pet friendly. You can tell that the owners took a lot of care to make sure guests would be comfortable during their stay. There are small details, like rugs at the bedsides, an abundance of hooks for hanging items, and a comfortable lounging space. The location is great if you're looking for a restful countryside retreat. The accommodations are built over a stream and there is a private balcony with a table and chairs to enjoy the sounds of nature. Arcos de Valdevez and Ponte de Lima aren't far away, and wine lovers should know that Aphros and Paço Calheiros are nearby too. It was too cold and rainy for us to use the pool but it looked welcoming. There's a deck and it's surrounded by a small vineyard. We cannot wait to stay here again!
