I genuinely loved my experience, wish I could’ve stayed longer!can’t recommend this enough

This recently renovated apartment features a building dating back to 2019, which is a few steps from the Carenero Beach. All rooms are fitted with a patio with garden views. Everything about our stay here was exceptional. We were within walking distance to the beach and restaurants. It was easy to catch a water taxi to go to the main island. Our room was very comfortable and was well equipped. Karen was great to communicate with and responded quickly to any requests. She also made good recommendations for places to eat and water taxis to use. It was a perfect 4 night stay for us!

They went out of their way to make sure that we had all the info that we needed about the area, including access to the surfbreaks, which was very much appreciated. Lovely treehouses that were built with love and thought by the owners. Very eco-minded, which we support 100 percent. The cabin was suspended in the jungle in a very quiet location, yet close to the beaches, which were a 5 minute walk away. Every day we could hear the Howler monkeys in the distance and hear and see the wide variety of tropical birds. Listening to the sounds of nature was so peaceful. We loved our stay there!

Dining at La Loma is more than a meal — it’s an experience and you’ve even got the best view of the bay ever from the restaurant. But what truly makes La Loma exceptional is the people. The hosts and staff are welcoming, passionate, and incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife and chocolate farm. Their care for sustainability and respect for the environment shines through in everything they do. From hiking through the cacao farm and learning about chocolate-making to trying different local fruits and spotting sloths right from the restaurant, every moment was unforgettable. If you’re looking for a place that’s more than just a stay — a place that connects you with nature and leaves you feeling inspired — La Loma Lodge is it. Without a doubt, one of the most remarkable travel experiences we’ve ever had. Make sure you stay a bit longer than we did, one night was definitely not enough.
