But what makes this place extraordinary is the hospitality, warmth, and genuine care that the team puts into everything they do. Even the small moments show it. One evening at dinner, my plate came with mashed potatoes (which I don’t like). I asked for an empty plate just to separate the food, and while I thought the request had been forgotten, a staff member came back minutes later with a fresh serving of hot rice made just for me! Completely unasked for. That’s the level of thoughtfulness they put into their guests. And then there’s the magic of their special dinners. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday they cook something unique… a different dish every time, prepared with love and served not because they have to, but because they want us to connect, share, and feel at home. They don’t even eat with us; it’s all about creating a space where travelers can gather and build friendships. It’s rare to find a hostel with this much heart and soul. Honestly, it feels less like a hostel and more like a family. The only downside? It’s becoming harder to find a bed because everyone wants to stay here! So if you see availability, don’t hesitate! Certain rooms at the property include a balcony with a garden view. It’s a lovely property run by a couple the whole place is very quiet and feels like you’re just staying at your own parents house. They were both lovely the gentleman helped me with my transportation booking and gave me useful tips for Laos and the lady make sure I had local breakfast every morning before my tours!! They were all delicious and filling! It’s a bit of a walk to the night market surroundings but I actually liked how it was on an ally street away from the main road. There’s everything you could need around and great coffee shops. I felt quite safe as a solo female traveler.

Excellent food at the restaurant and the grounds of the resort were outstanding. Had a fantastic yoga session overlooking the river and a perfect traditional massage at the spa. Every detail of the hospitality was thoughtfully considered. The manager, Carl, went out of his way to provide guidance for our stay there and tips for our next stop in Cambodia. He is a real gem! Only regret was that we could not stay longer!

Set in the centre of AVANI Luang Prabang, AVANI Luang Prabang boasts a central garden and a 25-metre long swimming pool. Free WiFi is offered throughout the property and free private parking is available on site. This is a relatively new hotel and everything is well thought out and comfortable. The room was big and bright. The pool is enormous with plenty of seating around it. The location is very convenient for the town as it’s right on the doorstep. Breakfast was fabulous. The staff are helpful and polite. It has a great gym but unfortunately we didn’t have the time to use it.
