A very unique and highly recommended experience if you wish to spend some time in the Japanese countryside, surrounded by beautiful nature. The stay at the temple hotel for me was also a one of a kind spiritual and cultural experience. Multiple beautiful surrounding towns are easily reachable by bike. Access is much easier if you have your own vehicle but not impossible with public transport. The nearest station is Taiji station and there is a bus running to the Temple hotel. Make sure to make note of the time tables in advance or arrange a taxi which takes around 6-7 minutes.

The hosts picked me up and dropped me off from the Kumano Kodo trail and when I arrived at the location, offered me a glass of wine and then a trip to go visit their goat farm. The home is cozy, the location is beautiful. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this location!
