It was amazing to stay in a traditional Japanese thatched house (over 300 years old). The accommodation was warm and had a very cosy lounge area (with guitars and other instruments to play) and lots of cooking space. The location was also quite spectacular with views of the city at night and located next to a lake, park, and sports facilities. There is also a bus stop directly outside of the property. Definitely a must if you're planning to stay in Nanto.

It’s not the most “normal” stay and those looking for more of a hotel experience might not like it, but for those looking to have an adventure in Japan and to meet new people this place was perfect.
