We were the only guests and had use of all the facilities- being able to wash and dry clothes overnight was very useful. The owner of the house was exceptionally helpful - she drove us around and we took her to dinner in the evening and she took us to her favorite bar. It was fun to have our own guide and interesting to talk to her about the area. She also drove us to the station the next morning. Definitely a cultural experience!

The guesthouse was surrounded by forested mountains and only the peaceful sounds of nature. The breakfast was the most memorable meal I have had in Japan. I loved all the food, especially being invited to join the hosts to eat dinner with them. It was a pleasure to be able to see the working farm with goats, chickens and an adorable cat. I loved learning about the plant-dying methods using local leaves and the couple's deep knowledge about this art. It would be nice to return one day.

Beautiful renovated house in the middle of Nara countryside. Staff was extremely kind and attentive, we felt like we were in a japanese house. The woods surrounding the house were really beautiful, and food was really good - ideal for anyone wanting to escape and rest in a quiet area

This is a very large property with lots of space for a family. It’s Japanese style but there are also western style beds if you prefer. The owner is very kind and left many snacks and food for us to enjoy. She is an excellent communicator. The location is perfect - right next to Nara station

Spacious, quiet, tastefully designed - and an unbeatable location a stone’s throw away from Nara park. Best of all, we had one of the most incredible hosts we’ve ever encountered. He went out of his way to generously help us every step of the way. Even drove us to the train station on his actual birthday! Can’t wait to be back!
