Perfect location in the very center of central Basel, right on the Marktplatz. This is now my go-to hotel for whenever business or leisure travel takes me through this part of the world. Fabulously friendly and attentive staff, a super cafe (popular with locals as well as guests: you're going to need to book if you want to have Sunday brunch there...), and very comfy beds with the most comfortable pillows I've ever slept on in a Swiss or German hotel. HIGHLY recommended and worth the price.

Great location, easy to arrive from the train station, even by foot. Also from the hotel you can easily get to the city center by foot or nr.3 tram. The room was spacious with everything that you need. The beds are large and very comfortable, the staff was very nice and helpful. At the hotel you also have a fusball table, billiards and a gym which is quite in handy if you are coming here with friends and want to have some fun inside. Overall we loved staying here and we are certain what we will return to Basel and at this hotel.

Steinenschanze Charming City & Garden Hotel is less than 5 minutes' walk from Basel's city centre and the university, close to historical buildings and the old town. Near the Basel Railway station. Staff are friendly, and room and facilities are nice and cozy.
