Samson and the Lilo offers exactly what it says on the website and more. We stayed there for one night, but both hosts, together with their dog, welcome guests like someone they've known for a while. This energy of theirs coincides with the wonderful place where the accommodation is located. The rooms in which you stay, with certain details, give the impression that the hosts have thought of all our needs while staying with them. And our dog was welcomed with treats and happy faces. We will be back, that's for sure.

The property is in a beautiful location of Slovenian countryside. The owners were really friendly too. They also did a very tasty breakfast at an extra price. We also bought some bottles of wine after having tasted the samples from their distillery. The nearby village was very lovely and quiet to walk around in.

Quietly and beautifully situated in a cul-de-sac on a steep mountain, yet only a few minutes' drive from the river and the town of Vipava, which has decent restaurants, shops and an ATM. Large supermarkets (including Lidl, Spar, Mercator) are a 15-minute drive away in the town of Ajdovščina. The term “apartment” is too modest for this nostalgic Roman-style villa consisting of two separate floors. The building is located on the mountain side, on the same grounds as the owners' villa on the street side. Plus points are the peace and privacy (fully fenced grounds, separate building, cul-de-sac), the spacious bedroom/living room, the large extra toilet, the very large fitted kitchen with huge adjoining dining room, large covered terraces with seating on both floors, the (shared) swimming pool and the phenomenal view of the mountains and valley. The fact that not all of the inventory is still functional is more than compensated for by the favourable price/quality ratio and the extraordinary hospitality and helpfulness of the owners. You are a welcome guest here of three generations of entrepreneurs, who are also beekeepers. One of your hosts is a dog trainer. Your dog is very welcome here, can play in the garden with the owners' dogs and can be safely walked a kilometre uphill on the extensive walking trails in the Vipavska dolina nature reserve (various levels of difficulty). Upon request, your hosts will also show you the way to safe places to swim with your dog in the river or the sand quarry. In short, Božič Residence is highly recommended for dog owners, those seeking peace and quiet, nature lovers and honey buyers. Twenty minutes' drive uphill, the owners also have an estate with a farm, horses, donkeys, cattle, alpacas, goats, dogs, chickens and 20 hectares of rolling alpine meadows. This unique estate is very remote, surrounded by nature.

The hosts Mateija & Mitija were so lovely. We were traveling for my wedding and my grandparents were staying at Vila Ana. Who struggle to get around, however Mitija arranged to pick up my grandparents at the entrance of the castle and take them right up to the door. They were so accommodating and kind. The rooms were adorable and well presented. My family were very happy and comfortable. Highly recommend Vila Ana.
