It was far more better than I expected. I was in a rush during my travels, so I booked very quickly. I had doubts because there was no breakfast option on the page. However, the owner brings nata, croissants, and bread every morning, even turkey ham for me, and there is an open buffet in the refrigerator already. The building, common areas, and garden were incredibly cozy and well-decorated. The high ceiling and wooden design make you feel like you are somewhere special, not just in a concrete hotel. The owner is a great guy; he was very helpful and talkative. I wish I had more time; unfortunately, I was there for a conference. I hope to visit Coimbra again to enjoy this great city; I will definitely choose the same accommodation again.

Location is absolutely gorgeous. Coimbra is split into two sides by the river, the busy side with the university and the quaint residential side, and this flat is on the residential side. The location is as scenic as it gets - but expect a VERY uphill walk to get there!

For those who travel by car,it’s the best option because the parking is right under the building,and it has an elevator to the top floor,where you can admire the view to both sides of the river from the apartment’s balcony.Also it’s a very short walk to the center of the city.Communication was good and fast. You will fall in love with the place and people. Incredible location. It is probably among the few places that meets your expectations in your entire traveller life. It matches in everithing the advertising description, great heritage interpretation of the building that host the hostel, excellent staff in an era of self checking-in when you do all by yourself and just pay for the services, here you will meet a unique staff with great people and language skills and an extra-something that is uniquely theirs. They are all unique as individuals in their way, style and skills and they work as a team. It is the old fashion excellence standard in tourism hostelling (and I am telling you that as someone who teaches that in a tourism HE program). Thank you Cathy, Tatiana, Juan, Eugene and anyone who was behind the scenes. :)

Our two rooms were interconnecting which was convenient. Being a pet friendly hotel, our dog was welcome. The breakfast buffet was very good, and included gluten free bread and biscuits. Although the underground car park was too low for our car with roof box, we were easily able to park on the street nearby. Service was friendly and helpful, and I can recommend this hotel for a stay in Coimbra.
