We especially appreciated the warm hospitality — one of the owners’ sons kindly helped guide us when we first arrived, which we are truly grateful for. The tiny home was very well equipped and clean. I was greeted with sunshine at arrival so that I could try out the deck chairs straight away. The bed was very comfy, the linens just right for a cool night. I could see the stars looking out the window and woke up to an impressive sunrise over the hills. A very special place tucked away in a quiet valley.

On our first trip to New Zealand and as we live on a small farmstead in the UK, we were very keen to sample a taste of life on a Hill Station. The cottage at Bauchops Hill Station really gave us a feel for life in the spectacular scenery which surrounds it. The landscape is awe inspiring and puts a different perspective on life. Once the log burner in the living area of the cottage was lit, it heated up the whole place. Make sure to take a look at the wonderful night sky during your stay-stars and moon are so bright out there! We had the most memorable Farm Tour with Dion, whose extensive knowledge of the area and farming expertise was shared freely. We will always remember those few hours with him, with gratitude.
