Beautiful and unique property with its heritage buildings and peaceful surroundings. A friend I told we were going there said it wasn’t so kid-friendly, but I disagree in the case of our 1.5-year-old! The staff were very kind and welcoming, there was a cot for him to sleep in, high chairs and kids’ menu at the restaurant and a shallower section of the pool which he could walk around in independently. He also loved the resident cats! They also kindly allowed us to move rooms for a late checkout (at no extra charge), which meant that he could nap before the flight home.

This property is nestled within a very private compound and offers 8 individually designed 100 year old heritage villas. It’s the perfect retreat for animal lovers.

We stayed 5 nights and loved it, although this place may not be for everyone. We stayed in “Laguna” which we thought was the pick of the villas. First impressions really are that you are staying in an old Malay wooden house and they do look quite ramshackle from the outside. There are no glass windows, only shutters, and when we first arrived we thought we would be too hot and get eaten alive by mosquitos. However, each villa has fans and air conditioning, and in the evening we would close the shutters and put on the air conditioning, and by the time we went to bed the villa was very comfortable to the point we turned off the air conditioning and just used the ceiling fan. Mosquitos were simply NOT an issue. We just thought it was a wonderful experience staying in these fantastic old structures which have been brought from various parts of Malaysia, and we did find them very comfortable. The entire place is very peaceful and a great escape from the main beach area. The food in the restaurant is excellent, although expensive by Malaysian standards, and the restaurant itself is a lovely place to eat with its views over the lagoon. Quite popular also given the number of non residents who would turn up to dinner. The staff were lovely and looked after us really well. It is about a 15 minute walk to the main beach area.

We spent two unforgettable days here. The design of the hotel has a very unique personal style, and there are so many exhibits as if they were in a museum. The scenery is very beautiful. You can forget your troubles here. You just need to relax. Ken and Crisha are very nice people. They are cheerful, enthusiastic and talkative. Guests who come here will definitely feel their enthusiasm and thoughtful service. The food here is very good. They have an outstanding chef. Btw we also kayaked, which was a very interesting experience. In short, I sincerely recommend everyone to come here to experience it.

Far exceeded our dreams and expectations… it truly is paradise found and terrific value. The property is a collection of 4 private villas/rooms designed by the same architects behind the world famous Datai hotel that shares the same private, idyllic Datai beach. The small infinity pool is a dream. The family of 3 staff who run it and live onsite couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly - Kenneth, Crisha and Jenny, we salute you and thank you. Kayaks can be hired and Kenneth can help you access the beautifully clean beach and inviting sea (a couple of minute drive or 15 mins walk). We were celebrating my husbands birthday during our stay and Crisha very kindly made a birthday cake - honestly.., this place is amazing… wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Location was ok. Little far from the beach but it was very quiet and calm, just as we wanted. We liked that apartments had all amenities for cooking and were spacious enough for four people (actually could afford six) . Our host Maria and her daughter were very helpful in all our needs and among other things provided us every morning with bottles of filtered water
