Absolutely lovely place with such kind and lovely owners. It was very homely and comfortable, while not feeling like we were in somebody else's space. We loved that there was a stove, oven, microwave, fridge and coffee machine in the communal area. It felt a bit like a hostel, except that the crowd was very mixed in age and also included families. We stayed in Mexico for four weeks and this was our favourite place.

We highly recommend Viajero Bacalar!! It's simply amazing. The amenities, the view, the location, and the incredibly friendly and welcoming staff 😍 You truly feel completely at ease! We found a very weak pigeon outside our room one morning. I took it to reception, and they didn't hesitate to help it! ❤️ I'm so grateful for that. The best stay in all of Mexico so far ☺️

We absolutely loved our stay here at Ukayil, the room was MASSIVE and very comfortable with all amenities you need, even a coffee maker, plates and cutlery. The A/C was amazing, the room is decorated nice, check-in was a breeze with little lock-boxes to collect keys after hours. The bathroom and shower were very good too and there was lots of space to hang clothes inside and also a washing line outside too. The location was quite good too, it's about 15 minutes to walk into the centre from here, which is not bad, and you definitely don't need a taxi to the centre or to the boat jetties or free municipal swimming area - they are all walkable. But it may be a bit far for some - but taxis are cheap if you need them. The taxi to the ADO station from here was ~mx$40. The host was also very helpful and nice, bringing us blankets when we first checked in, and then helping us arrange a taxi to the ADO station to leave on the last day. Overall, this property is probably the best value for money place we've stayed in this whole trip through Mexico, given the comfort and size of the room, walking distance to centre and great price, we wouldn't hesitate to book here again. Thanks for having us!!

1. It’s the perfect location in the lagoon. 2. The staff are super friendly. 3. It’s dog friendly. 4. The included kayaks, paddle boards & breakfast. 5. The breakfast variety (fruits, juices, coffee, eggs, Mexican breakfast, yogurt, pancakes) 6. The security person by the entrance all the time makes you feel safe. 7. 3 different piers. 8. At an additional cost they offer alcohol and non-alcohol drinks as well as meals during the day.

Stunning location on the lagoon, delicious creative breakfast included, tranquil and chilled vibes, an amazing restaurant next door - just an incredible place to stay for a rustic, authentic bit of paradise. The staff are so friendly too and resident dog. Would absolutely return!
