Casa Mafalda is without doubt the best self-catering apartment I have ever stayed in. Rita was an exceptional host. During our 12-night stay she made sure we were always stocked for breakfast with eggs, bread, pastries, yoghurts, tea, coffee, jam, Nutella and milk. She even offered to change our linen halfway through the stay and offered to take out our rubbish and recycling. She also suggested a local wine tasting and personally drove us to and from a vineyard and cantina in Montefalco so that we could enjoy the experience. She is so proud of the beautiful area she lives in and genuinely wants her guests to experience its magic. We certainly felt it. During our two weeks we enjoyed day trips to Perugia, Assisi, Foligno, Trevi and the Marmore waterfalls, as well as local highlights such as the Spoleto Rocca, a hike on the Giro dei Condotti and a walk along the disused Spoleto–Umbria railway line. Casa Mafalda is beautifully decorated, spotless, well equipped and perfectly located. It is only a five-minute walk from the station in one direction and a ten-minute walk from the old part of Spoleto in the other. It is a fantastic base for exploring Umbria and beyond. If we had stayed even longer we would have made more use of the Ancona train line to explore parts of the Marche and the Roma Termini line to see more of Lazio. Spoleto is wonderfully well connected and full of interest both in its own right and throughout the surrounding region.

This is the second time we stayed. The property has a lot of history and the owner is part of the history. The rooms were spacious, clean and had everything you needed. The very best Nazzaro picked up beer from local store to make our arrival from the hike even better. He drove and arranged pickup to:from local restaurant. Breakfast had everything you wanted both salt and sweet, eggs and good coffee to set us up for the next day hiking. I keep coming back to Villa Cardinale, it is always a family feeling and warmth to the place.

Great location, charming house with very comfortable rooms, possibility to dine on site (good, but expensive for not a lot of quantity), pool / very nice garden, honesty bar allowing self service to enjoy an appetizer nearby the pool. I would recommend spending an evening at Montefalco, typical nearby charming Italian village

nice apartment, close to the city centre, free parking at 200 mt, supermarket at walking distance. The apartment is confortable, with some products for breakfast, coffee, tea, milk on the fridge, and a very good bottle of bubbly wine to celebrate the new year. Pet friendly. highly recommended

location is remote in the middle of forrest, probalby not for everone, but we loved it. Owners Marco & Monica were fantastic, food was superb - picanha was amazing, red wine great. Our dogs can be outside with no problem at all. Kids love the pool and small animal farm next to the building.

The property itself is absolutely lovely. The buildings are beautiful and the grounds are spacious with lots of seating outside to enjoy an afternoon. The staff were all very friendly and there are a couple of large comfortable living rooms that act as common spaces and were very nice. the restaurant was excellent for dinner and breakfast was very good every day. There is also an on-your-honor bar set-up which was nice in the evenings. And a huge plus, they’re dog-friendly with lots of space for our dog to run around.

The breakfast was simple but good. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The view from the room and on the terrace outside is marvelous. Location is very quiet if you don't open the window because you will hear farm dogs barking at night.
