During our trip to Chikmagalur, we stayed at Hippla Home Stay, expecting just a simple one-night stay, but we were surprised by the hospitality and warmth we received, which took our experience to the next level. The food here was home cooked & very comforting just like being at home. I must mention Sudhakar sir, the host, who is an incredibly humble and kind person. The way he and his family treated us made us feel like part of their family, not just guests. They run this home stay with genuine care and love, rather than just as a business. Our host and his family were very nice. The food was excellent, they really try to adapt to our European taste, making non spicy as we requested. We really felt like at home, having a camp fire every night, and also a carrom game. Above all, the place was very very peaceful and quiet, in a very nice coffee plantation. The accommodation was fantastic right in the middle of a coffee plantation and far from both noise and air pollution. The hostess Vasavi was very kind and nothing was too much for her. She made sure we were well fed and watered and even made non spicy food for my children who are picky eaters. It’s these small details that stand out. Food is local varieties which I doubt you will get in a ‘star ‘ hotel. Please do try home made passion fruit and fig wine. Thank you Vasavi for your generosity.
