I booked this property based on its listing as a one-bedroom with a bed and sofa bed. In reality, it was a studio with only a sofa bed — completely misleading. The apartment smelled strongly of smoke upon arrival. The bathroom was dirty, with dust, hair, and grime in the bath, sink, drawers, toilet, and even the toilet roll holder. The fridge was unusable due to a foul smell and visible mould — a serious hygiene issue. We could not store any fresh food inside it, as doing so would have posed a clear health risk. No one should be expected to place groceries in a mould-infested appliance, especially when paying for self-catering accommodation. The condition of the fridge alone made the property unsuitable for even a short stay. If you're looking for a lovely stay, don't let the charming garden fool you. This is a studio — not a one-bedroom — with an uncomfortable sofa bed. We sat on it to contact the hosts about the issues, but the bathroom was far below standard. Despite the poor condition, they expect guests to clean everything thoroughly before departure or risk a fine, which they hold on your card. The threat of such a steep penalty, especially given the state of the property, is completely unreasonable. I was asked to send photos on arrival, which I did. When I pointed out these issues, the host responded rudely, sarcastically asking if I wanted to take pictures of the pipes too. I also sent videos via WhatsApp, but they later claimed they never received them — then tried to enable disappearing messages in the chat. I turned that off immediately to preserve the evidence. We informed them when we left the property and returned the key — which they had the audacity to question, despite having a camera pointed directly at the key drop-off. They could clearly see we returned it. They also messaged saying we hadn’t opted in for a cleaning fee, which was confusing — Booking.
