Room clean , warm and bed very comfortable. The shower was excellent high enough to get under without stooping. Breakfast- selection of pastries with preserves , yoghurt, fruit juice and coffee reasonably priced

Excellent value for money. The gîte was cool and out of the sun most of the day. Outside seating was in the sunshine with a parasol if needed. Secure off-road parking. All the facilities we needed for a short break in the area.

A beautiful old property, full of character, currently being renovated to a high spec, by the owners Dawn and Chris. A real gem in the heart of rural France. Dawn and Chris were so welcoming and friendly & could not have been more helpful. We met ‘the boys’ on arrival too - the owner’s alpacas - which make this property unique. Our breakfast the following day - after a wonderful night’s sleep in a very comfortable bed - was amazing. It was delivered to the bedroom in a wicker picnic basket by Chris. We enjoyed real tea, orange juice, overnight oats, cereals, croissants, pain au chocolate and fresh fruit. A veritable feast. We would love to return in the future and can’t thank Dawn and Chris enough for their hospitality.

This is my second stay here. For me, it's a fantastic self-contained cottage. Gizelle is lovely, and nothing is too much trouble. The location is superb for me travelling to Southern Spain, Granada. My dog loves it too! Ideal for him as country lanes to walk nearby & very quiet. It's extremely warm in winter. Breakfast is really good. If you're careful & plan your route, you can avoid tolls!! Head to Poitiers on the route map first & then key in Eurotunnel, Calais. The drive takes you through beautiful little villages where you can stop off for coffee & a bite to eat. Plenty of history in the area & Melle town is only 4 minutes away. The ladies in the bread shop were extremely friendly. I didn't explore Melle as it was too cold & we'd had a long drive, so I just rested & caught up on sleep I need to re study French, though!! Xxx.

Yvette is a joy! What a lovely helpful person she is. Nothing was too much trouble. We had hire car problems and Yvette helped us sort them out. When we were not sure if we could resolve the issues, Yvette offered to drive us to the airport! Breakfast was very good; more than enough food. The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean and pleasant. When we return to the area we will definitely be staying with Yvette (If she'll have us).
