There are not a ton of hotel options in Linz- luckily I came across Hotel Schwarzer Bär! It was so moderately priced, it actually almost worried me. I trusted the many great reviews, and I am SO GLAD I DID! What a great experience that totally blew me away! We were traveling through Austria to visit WW2 historical sites, so we booked the large suite they have at the hotel. It is slightly hard to navigate there when you first arrive- PLEASE, JUST CALL THE HOTEL- they will guide you, and once you get those directions, it is super easy. Upon walking in, I was so pleased with the lobby/cafe/check in area. There were a few people enjoying a beverage and snack outside on the patio. The front desk staff was GREAT! They checked us in right away and explained the location, breakfast, and other restaurant options. Once we got to our room- WOW! It was SO BIG! Given, we did book the large suite, but it had a full kitchenette, living room, large balcony, 2 closets, a huge bathroom (with GREAT hot water), a nice king size bed, and another desk area. It had a great air conditioner (a HUGE plus if you need it), but also a ton of windows to open. The breakfast was GREAT! One of the best on our 4 week vacation. We had dinner in their terrace restaurant- and it was awesome! We were able to sit outside and enjoy the great views. I KNEW I had to write them a great review- I was beyond impressed for a VERY AFFORDABLE hotel.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully furnished, with incredibly comfortable beds . I appreciated the modern touches like the smart TV, high-speed Wi-Fi. As a pet owner, I was delighted to find that the hotel is pet-friendly. They provided excellent accommodations for my furry friend, making our stay even more enjoyable.

The room and bathroom were the perfect size! I liked the fact that the room had A/C, a coffee machine with coffee capsules, a comfortable bed perfect for two, strong WiFi, and a nice view of the church. The customer service was top tier and the hotel staff spoke English, which was appreciated. The location of the hotel is also something I found to be great when exploring a new place. Everything I needed was under a 10 minute walk from the hotel. I also noticed the hotel is dog friendly so nice to know if I'm ever in Linz again.

The hotel is conveniently located with better than expected facilities, including comfortable beds, a good shower, a fridge in the room and free private parking. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We were travelling with our dog JJ and Anouska the cat. The pets were accepted without any fuss at no extra cost. Would highly recommend whether just passing through on the nearby A1 like ourselves, or for a longer stay, with the trams being next to the hotel. Breakfast was very good and also included in the price. Thank you.

We took superb room and it has a nice river and inner yard view. I liked the wellness and terrace where you could rest after your journey. Rooms are well planned and cozy. Also hotel is pet friendly and there are plenty of people with dogs, I love it.

The personnel tried to communicate with us as well as they could, kind, pet friendly (10€ per pet I think it was), the gyro place next door has amazing food, supermarket right around the corner, parking behind the hotel

This hotel is super practical, modern and quick as the check-in is done thought a touch screen, and you don't need to speak with any person for nothing actually. Is pet friendly, there're supermarket, gas station and mc donalds near by, I find out a dog park as well. The breakfast is good, comfy bed and lots of parking spaces underground.
