Our room was very clean and comfortable with lovely decor and came with the bonus of a heated mattress which was amazing after being quite cold motorbiking around in the cool Cao Bang's January weather (which felt shockingly cold on the motorbike). The real highlight though was the incredibly friendly and helpful host family who offered to help us above and beyond anywhere else we had been, and who also provided us with really excellent *local* recommendations for food and coffee, unlike pretty much everywhere else we stayed (where we often heard that we wouldn't like the local food). We also rented a motorbike from them and everything went really smoothly and easily.
