The meals, morning prayers, and fire ceremony were profound experiences in which we felt fortunate to participate. We were grateful to have had at least one night at Köyasan Syukubo Ekoin Temple. What a spectacular guest house! We were blown away by how beautiful it was both inside the house and their wonderful garden area with the oldest Sakura tree in Wakayama. Giovanni and Hitomi were amazing hosts and made us feel welcome and special throughout. Giovanni's set course meal was absolutely delicious with high quality ingredients, we were glad we paid extra for this. After our trek from Takajiri we were able to enjoy some beers in the sunshine in the garden and it was the perfect end to the day. Would recommend to everyone highly 🌸

This backs off onto a very old temple where the monk who runs the accommodation holds his services. He was very friendly and showed us around the temple and I attended his moving service. The place was clean and there was Sake offered free to guests. The monk kindly accepted the receipt of my luggage transported from another city without any hassle. I will definitely stay again. He was very helpful and kind. Thanks!

Great dinner for a reasonable price. Breakfast and bento box for lunch on the trek available, both good. We'd visit again and recommend this place to others!
