Residence Hotel Takayama Station is situated conveniently in the centre of Takayama, and offers a fitness centre, free WiFi and a terrace. This 4-star hotel offers luggage storage space. Private parking is available on site. Location: right next to the station, literally. Couldn't be easier. Takayama isn't that big, so you're already within walking distance of all the main attractions and many places to eat. Facilities: my room had a more or less full size kitchen, a huge refrigerator, a washing machine and multiple trash cans. This was easily the most complete hotel room of my entire stay in Japan. There is a pretty big balcony that you can access by way of sliding doors. And there is also a sliding mosquito screen to keep out bugs. Perfect! What I like about the building: While this hotel only has 1 elevator for like 10 floors, there is an open stairway inside the building that you can use. It is not limited to emergencies only. I have gratefully made use of this when I wanted to leave the hotel but there was an entire family with suitcases waiting for the elevator. Another big plus, the hotel has a secondary entrance/exit, so you don't have to pass reception when you want to get in or out of the hotel.

The property is allergy-free and is located 49 km from Gero Station. Everything was right, from start to finish. The place, the bed, the lounge, I’m literally planning to go back with my family. Is the first time ever, while traveling, that I’ve felt so comfortable in a hotel room. I felt like the room was a place to be, to stay, to live and it didn’t bother me to be there while a snowstorm was raging outside. The bed was amazing, even though it was a Japanese futon, the staff was super nice and welcoming and the free drinks at the lounge were amazing. This is the best hotel I’ve ever been and I will definitely return.

Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. Please pay in cash or by card upon check-in. Guests under 12 years old are exempt from the lodging tax. Very big room - could fit all of us, don't have any idea why we booked 2 rooms, we could easily book just one, and sleep two on the beds and two on the tatami.

We have one of the bigger room , very comfortable tatami futon bed and both breakfast & dinner were outstanding ! Hope to return one day !

The room was great, quite a typical ryokan room but it also had a bath in the room which is not something you find everywhere. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the station which was important because we had quite a bit of luggage, and one of the main reasons I picked it. It was also a convenient walk to the rest of the town and the morning market. The staff were friendly and helped us with the evening meals around at nearby restaurants. We also enjoyed the hotel breakfast on our last day which for us was a local selection that includes their famous hida beef. It was quite a big breakfast and very delicious.

All guest rooms are fitted with wooden furnishings, providing a perfect haven for relaxation. The property offers free pick-up shuttles from Hirayu Onsen bus stop, a 3-mintue ride away. Very nice and cosy space! Staff were friendly, facilities were nice, all was great! The free ramen at night was delicious! Food was generally not bad.

It is situated 10 km from Toson Memorial Museum and features a shared kitchen. The guest house has family rooms. Cozy,clean,nice taste for everything,they pick me up at late night,and sand me away in the morning as I’m a solo traveler.They try their best to let me feel at home and let me know I’m so welcomed,not because of I’m Chinese,but a human being.Thank you for such an open mind and warm heart.
