The Wi-Fi runs on Starlink, so the connection was strong. And the food… absolutely amazing - probably the best we had in all of Sumba! Don’t miss their famous lobster soup!

The breakfast was excellent. Overall, the experience at the villa was amazing. The villas were very modern and well appointed. The staff really takes care of you at this villa. You are steps away from a private beach with very few people (if any) which is quite the opposite of Bali. The staff brought out a beach chair and a table. I had cocktails on the beach. Staff provided me with snorkeling gear and water shoes as well. I arrived late at night and the staff made sure I had dinner within an hour or so of my arrival. Talk with the staff! They are amazing people and enjoy what they do. My only regret is that I wish I could have stayed longer! You won't regret it!

They taught us about Sumba culture, traditions, the local language, the stories behind the land, and the spirit of the island. Every conversation felt meaningful, warm, and genuine. It is difficult to put into words how deeply this touched us. The villa itself was stunning, beautifully designed, cozy, and spotlessly clean. Waking up to the open horizon and the sound of nature felt like a dream. The atmosphere is peaceful and pure in a way that is hard to find anywhere else. The beauty of Villa Morika is undeniable, the views, the sunrises, the raw nature, the deep silence. But what makes this place truly unforgettable is the heart behind it. The staff cooked for us with so much love, guided us with patience, laughed with us, and created moments that felt almost sacred. We have traveled to many places in the world, but Sumba is special. Villa Morika is special. And the people here are the reason. We are leaving with full hearts, deeper understanding, and the feeling of having gained something meaningful. We already know that we will come back. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for everything. You gave us a piece of Sumba that we will carry forever.

Hars knowledge about the surroundings and east Sumba is a source not to disregard.
