We managed to see lots of amazing animals right from the bungalow terrace. Monkey, monitor lizards, birds, butterflies. Our bungalow was sea front, thanks to Robi who moved us after the first night. Very close to the bungalows is Olala restaurant, an amazing one, with a great terrace and view. It s like 50m away. We had hot water as well which I honestly didn't expect. Robi will help you with anything, motorbike rental at great prices, snorkeling equipment, snorkeling trips etc. I strongly recommend this place!

(One of) the most beautiful snorkeling spot(s) is right in front of you. - If you want to go diving, make sure to enquire about it with Borja and Yuyun as they are both divemasters.

Aceh Heritage Village: Right when you walk in, you'll see two beautifully restored historic Acehnese houses featuring hand carved and painted decorations. This is totally unique on the island, and it's a must-see. Sometimes there are events there, so check with the resort to see about the schedule. The restaurant: The restaurant is stunning with an inviting porch that reveals the ocean and the lush landscape. The food is delightful with a mix of Indonesian and Western options. I am gluten free with a sensitive stomach. The restaurant always accommodates my dietary restrictions, and I always feel good after I eat there! If you will be staying awhile, you can even bring your own gluten free flour, and they will prepare something special for you. I love the ayam tangkap (an Acehnese specialty that you can't find many places on the island) and tom yum. The rooms: Every bungalow is done in the traditional Acehnese style with wooden carved decorations. My bungalow had a porch with a hammock which was the perfect place to relax while watching the ocean and listening to the sounds of nature. The bed was comfortable. The shower had hot water and it was easy to control the temperature, which cannot be said of many showers on the island. There was also a fridge and water dispenser in the room including hot water and china cups. The spa: I have had some of the best massages of my life at the spa here. My favorite is the Javanese. Masseuses are expertly trained and accommodating with any issues you may have. Friends of mine have had waxing done with excellent results. The beach: Great for lounging and a gentle swim.

Location is great, away from the crowded village of Iboih, so quieter and sleeping with the gentle sound of the ocean was wonderful. The view of the sea from the bungalow veranda was pretty and a short walk down steep steps took you to the rocky foreshore from where we snorkeled. A good variety of reef fish, especially in the mornings, plus big clams and starfish. The coral around Sabang generally is not good compare to other parts of Indonesia (Karimunjawa, Flores) and fish stock was reportedly depleted during Covid when tourism stopped for 2 years. The bungalow was great with French doors opening wide to the verandah. We had a fan one rather than AC. There were nice touches, like a water fountain with hot water option to make coffee, tea and cup noodles, even a tea towel for the cups and plates, and a hot water shower. Very clean and well maintained. Wiggy was a helpful host, keeping us informed via WhatsApp of any events, and his lad assistant Riki was fantastic. Just down the hill there is a great dive shop Scubaholik rents snorkeling gear and will orangise and equip dive trips for those qualified to dive, snorkel and dolphin chasing trips from 2 to 20 pax.

However, this is just basic accommodation. no hot shower and no breakfast provided. The view, though, is priceless. Please consider staying here if you’re looking for peace and tranquility, but if you prefer luxury, opt for a 5-star hotel instead.

The room was really nice, very spacious and with a nice couch and coffee table where our family could sit and relax, the view from either bed or the couch was amazing with the ocean and the very well maintained and beautiful jungle flora in between. It was clean and honestly one of, if not the best place my family and I have ever stayed in South East Asia. Would recommend anyone to go here. Now I want to review the people who made this the best experience we've ever had hands down. The staff was so incredible pleasant and friendly to be around. We had the greatest days here and they made us feel like family. The guys and girls that worked in the restaurant and grounds all had an amazing way of making us feel at home. It was layed back but in a very polite and natural way. It seemed very clear to us that the people working there enjoyed what they were doing and also each others and the guests company. The manager Llya was so nice to be around and she made sure that we had the best possible stay ever. We can never really repay her for her outstanding service and friendly, inviting way of being.
