What did I like? Virtually everything. Location, rooms, attentive and friendly staff, and breakfast. Have been traveling since 1970. 80 countries and many hotels. Every once in a while I come across a special hotel that offers in my opinion a truly memorable hotel experience. Not palatial, glitzy, or otherwise over-the-top - just pleasant as well as economical. They took a rather old building and only did as much renovation as was necessary to make it modernish. The work that was done, however, was first class. Even the elevators were a pleasant surprise. That’s how I view Tayko Bilbao. The weather wasn’t the greatest but we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel aspect of our Bilboa stay.

This 17th-century palace offers wonderful views in a a quiet, natural setting. It is situated 12 km from the centre of Bilbao, 5 km from Bilbao Sondika Airport. A beautiful building with spacious rooms. The staff were very helpful and kind. We had an issue with the TV in the room, and the receptionist responded immediately to resolve our problem.
