We panicked a little climbing the piss-stinking stairs (of the main house) but then a sparklingly clean wonderland of glittering kitsch was revealed. The beds were very comfortable, and it was an enormous amount of space for the price. The decor is simply [chef's kiss] for a stay on the Reeperbahn. The front door faces onto the main strip, and you can watch the parade of revelry go by directly under your nose, but when the dividing door between the living room and hallway is closed, the loudest Saturday party noise is completely gone. The bedroom and balcony face into a quiet courtyard. For ten euro a day, you can park in the garage under the house. The staff were easily reachable and very helpful. The city is totally walkable and everything was easy to reach on foot from here. We won't stay anywhere else in Hamburg!

Located in a former school building, the family-run Hotel Volkschule offers comfortable rooms in central Hamburg. Free WiFi internet access is available throughout the hotel. Everything was good, we would definitely stay here again :)
