She helped us to make reservations for many attractions. Also she always been in touch with us, provided information about interesting spots, food places, tickets etc. Big bonus - Kate can speak English very well. Kate’s mom had cooked breakfast and lunch for us and it was really amazing, I literally felt in love with simple homemade Chinese food thanks to her 😍 Location is very good. Very quiet at night. And the same time just few steps away from ferry, then a couple of minutes by boat and you are in the middle of hustle and bustle West Street. Guest house itself is very nice, reception is interesting decorated. Washing machine and free detergent are available on the roof top. Free water bottles at the reception. Rooms and bathrooms are big. We had balcony room and the river view was great. So, I definitely can recommend to book this place. You will never regret for sure. Thank you again Kate! My impression of Guilin was good since the view from the room was beautiful. The Hill can be seen through the window of our bedroom and I thought this hotel's name Serene Vale suits the property and it is calm and peaceful. The bedroom is decorated is a traditional Chinese style including accessories such as a tea table with a Chinese tea set. Breakfast was simple but good. They even supplied our breakfast to take away for the Li River Cruise since we had to leave early at 6 a.m. The staff provided us late late-night food service, to buy the noodle soup dinner when we needed it at late night by the night duty staff since it was winter and their kitchen had closed. Our first night experience and I could tell it was also my husband, 's birthday. We did not want to go out, it was very cold ;

You can order food and sit out on the outside eating area right next to the lake, and it’s such a vibe! They play music and have lanterns and a couple of cats for some snuggles. The dumplings were so so tasty, and the chicken we ordered was one of the best things we’ve had in China! We booked a tour of Ruyi peak through the hostel and David made sure everything was sorted for us. Him and his family made it feel like home; the room was nice and the bed was so comfy! The aircon was a nice change from the street temperature and the basic amenities worked a treat for us as we didn’t need much.
